Mani Sharma VS Vidhyasagar.

Mani Sharma and Vidhyasagar, both like to give melodies. Both, have enormous amount of fans in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Who would you rate is better?

Let's treat this thread as a POLL rather than a discussion forum and just mention whom you like and one like on why you like them. NO comments and NO arguments. OK FOLKS!!! get ready.

  Vidyasagar is definately the best. Manisharma uses too much voice effects in his songs so they dont sound so good. Vidyasagar has been in the field longer than Manisharma thats his advantage. Recently Vidyasagar movies runs well in cinemas and his songs are also enjoyed by the tamil audience.

  I think Mani Sharma is versatile - he gives melody, beat and mass songs. In TFM VS has scored over. In Telugu, Mani has immense following. Incidentally, Mani Sharma played Key boards to many VS films probably 10-12 years back. Interesting is'nt it?

  what carnatic edge? VS took 20 years to come here, taht itself speaks volumes. VS dished out enough crap all these years, got kicked every where, finally started after so many trial and errors he is giving something.

  VS is only getting away by rehashing old 80's songs and IR compositions. He can't even be considered a music director.
  I hope that Thendral is a colossal flop so that Thangar Bachan realises the true value of IR for his movies.

  Vidya sagar copies many songs..for example..
  1) Gundu ponnae in dhool is copied from Aqua
  2) "Dhool..Dhool" is a punjabi song
  3) The song "Muthandara etha edam" from Jaihind is a copy
  4) The song "Thalatuum katre vaa" is suppose dto be a hindi song
  5) "Ae nanbane nanbane" in dhill is a copy
  6) Most of his melodies sound alike.. "Asaiasai ippoludu", "Thavanindi kidaitha varame", " Kadhal vandathum" all are alike.
  
  MS is beter. but some more period is needed to judge him

  In past also Vs has given heaps of good songs. i am one of his fans from the begining. the only thing is he dint have luck in the past. he is way better than MS. MS's tunes are pretty ordinary. Deva's music is crap. but VS deserve to be no 01.

  On his training: At the age of four I learnt vocal classical music. When I was eight-years-old I joined Dhanraj Master. In fact both A. R. Rehman and I had joined on the same day. I learnt guitar for 3-4 years there, then the piano. Then I did my seventh grade in theory. At the age of eleven, I was a regular musician for many music directors. I could play for all languages because then, most films had their recording at Chennai. Today I can play about ten instruments.

  for that matter, here is synopsis of Mani Sharma.
  
  Played Keyboards at the age of 17 years. worked for practically every MD at that time. Played various instruments initially, but settled only for keboards. he also played for SPB's tours, AV Ramanan. He worked for Illayaraja, Vidyasagar, KVMahadevan, and host of old telugu MDs.

  BTW, Mani also worked on various jingles with Rajeev Menon (got many awards too..). He was introduced by none other than Ram Gopal Varma approximately 10 years back.

  Both manisharma and Vidyasagar has some similarities.. even though they produce high bass athiradi music..their underlying factor is Melody.
  
  Manisharma ..Eg: Sakkarai nilave, Kadhal aararo
  VS .. Eg: Kadhal Vanthathum (jesudas song)..so many..
  
  But VS has more vareity.. he is a decent musician in the industry.. capable of giving a blockbuster music which reach all levels. His standards are not caomparable to Mani... even though i like both of them's music
  
  VS's variety and refreshing tunes...Eg:Buck Buck Buck from Parthiban Kanavu.. the song starts in 60s and ends up in modern time... also the change of time you can get from the singer's voice as well..
  
  I read in an interview ARR said "VS is a good musician. i dont know why he was only recognized upto his standards only recently"... one of the interviews during BABA release time i think.

  Getting back on topic... VS has done some real good nos in "Parthiban Kanavu"... "Enna Thavam".. and "Buck buck.." are such joys to listen to...

  Neither are great. They are good only because they know the pulse of the Tamil audience. Only music directors who know the pulse of the Tamil listeners, suceed today. VS is no 1 only because he knows what the tamil listeners need to listen.
  
  There is no need to rate VS or MS as no 1. Both of them copy in every album of theirs.
  
  The opening tune of 'Minnale Pidithu' in Shahjahan is copied pucca from River Dance.
  
  Anbe Sivam's songs Machi Machi beats are from MJ as we all know it, Vazhve Thavam is from Qayamat se Qayamat tak.
  
  "Oh nanbane" from Dhill, "Vaanam Thoovum Poo Mazhai" from Punnagai Poove, and "Jepriya Jepriya" from Vaali all have the same tune, I wonder which western song this is copied from.
  
  Like we said all VS has done is serve what the Tamil audiences like, and that is hot, catchy second-hand music.
  
  In fact, Tamil music is close to becoming "SECOND-HAND MUSIC"

  Hi, I heard that someone mention about that Mani Sharma made the music for "Sakkarai Nilave," but it's not true. I know the guy who made the music. He is a friend of Harish Raghavendra, and the guy even let us speak to Harish in phone. Mani didn't do the music for Sakkarai Nilave.

  If its TFM, Its undoubtedly "Innisai Vaendhar!" Vidhyasagar. Manisharma has hardly done a few films in Tamil - And most of them had a "Reuse" of his Telugu movies - Shahjahan, Anjaneya are notable.
