Deva has proved his talent in all styles such as Carnatic, western, pop, rap, folk, gaana, melody, hard rock, in his compositions for films. His usage of the appropriate orchestration and good voices pleases the ears of chaste listeners of tfm. I think as on date in the market, he is the only person who is capable of treating Carnatic music and Gaana music alike in the film industry.

Devas recent release Srirajarajeswari has a variety in classical (KS Chitra sings the 1008 named kali song), a melody, a western duet and a Kuri song which is too long but sounding good. I think he deserves to be called an 'All style music master'. Ask for any style, MS viswanathan, Ilayaraja or AR Rahman - he gives it with a class of his own in orchestration and a difference in tune which will haunt, the way tfm prefers.

He needs to give more variety of songs and voices like SAR and ARR. It is high time to shift to something from his favourite gaana.
Gone are the days when producers are blamed for stereo types like kolavai shouting in IR songs, hummings in other MDs etc.

Devas tunes are OK. Atleast they kindle your brain to search for the original song which it sounds similar. Look what some other guys do, tune and sing it for themselves, no voice - only noise! Ratty voice in latest films.
All the MDs including Deva to YSR(?constipated) make the mistake of Singing the song themselves. Is that some type of complex or Psychiatric disease.

Devas devotional songs are sung by a variety of singers. His tuning is divine and matches devotional singers and the mood of the lyrics very well.
Albums like Ganapathy ganam, Kavadi Chindu, Pazhamudircholai Muruga, Deiva Malargal, OmShakthi songs are very popular and definitely shows a newer dimension of Deva. Hats off!
We cannot just blabber whatever we want just because we dont want to promote them. This forum should also consider the good work of musicians. Mind you, tfm fans are not fools!

deva is not at all a musicdirector. really his music makes me not to hear any film songs. also decreases the interest of music. on the other way it makes me to enjoy the oldsongs of ilayaraja and others. thanks deva. keep it up so that all other peoples will slowly change the taste to hear the oldsongs.
