Actually the word fan is derived from fanatic. ;-)

This is my last post in this DF. A simple statement that IMO Raja has been going down the
hill since 1989-90 is enuf to start personal abuses against me from some so called music fans.
Also someone derides my taste just because I said
I didn't like the songs of Devadai as if Devadai
is a yardstick to judge others taste.
The same 'knowledgable' music fans deride ARR day
in day out as if it is their birth right. In that
case please change the site name to "Raja fanatics
homepage" from "TFM page". At least it will forewarn sensible nettors what to expect in this
page.
I am a great Raja fan but frankly I am disappointed with Raja fans. In this forum they appear to be a bunch of loonies with high degree
of intolerance for others view specially if it has
anything to do with any criticism of Raja , however valid it may be. How many Raja fans will
admit that Rahman is clearly better than Raja by a
mile in recording.
Since this is my last post in this forum , I might
as well end up with a flame. Rahman for all his
flaws did one great thing , that is to kick the butt of Raja. The arrogance of Raja went out like
a air from a baloon after ARR dethroned him. His
idiotic interviews , his fights with all top
film personalities of tamil film industry clearly
shows that Raja as a person is no where near Raja
as a musician. Sad but true.

IT IS IDIOTIC AND WASTE OF TIME TO REPLY TO THIS GUY WHOSE PRIME AIM IS TO CREATE A FLUTTER BY LASHING AT RAJA. TO ANSWER THIS PERSON WITH A VIEW TO DEFEND RAJA IS A DISGRACE TO RAJA HIMSELF.

Mr. Ravi Krishna
I have followed almost all your postings in RMIM. There hasn't been a single occasion where your comments had been welcomed be it RDB vs IR or KK stuff. SO instead of blaming this forum. Please look into the mirror and see where the problem is. Your intentions might have been right but WHAT WE READ IS WHAT WE RESPOND TO. So don't blame this forum. This forum has a lot of ARR, DEVA and other MD's stuff. Everbody gets an oppurtunity to respond to his views as long as the language is OK for everybody to read it.
So Please don't blame Raja's fans as fanatic.

For everyone's sake, please stop making negative
remarks on people. Let's have healthy discussions and not make this fun place a fighting place.
As for Mr.Ravikrishna's comments:
I clearly remember one of his earlier remarks. "This is one of the best discussion groups on the net". Maybe he was in a bad spirit yesterday. I hope he gets back his senses soon.
Let's forget this episode. Don't waste your
time in this thread.

Yes! KAthula koodava adichikkanum? ( I mean internet) Well this kind of pettifogging has not happened amidst any of our tfmpage surfers till date! In fact, there are numerous ARR/MSV fans here in this DF with whom IR fans rub shoulders very often! But thats been very interesting, and above all, we have developed kind of rapport and friendship! What was funny with MR RaviKrishna
was
1) He has never been a regular here!
2) He bumps into the DF with intentions of just besmirching IR and "verupEthufying" his fans!
3) His title to the threads
If he is really interested in healthy discussions, he shouldnt have opened a thread of this kind that goes on to prove that his gray cells are yet to develop! I am sorry to say this, yet I couldnt help it. His very intensions of pettifogging could be sensed from his title to the earlier thread "pathetic recording quality of Raja's songs" You can be a critic, but everything has a language and grammar! RaviKrishna shouldnt be blamed, becos, its the trend today, to say, "I am IR's fan, I am so and so's fan...... but bla bla bla......."
Well, this forum could have been "IR fans page"
But, a great fan of IR, Mr Rajaraman, did not do that! He was instrumental in creating this page, named it "TFM Page" You know why? He wanted everyone to surf these pages!!
yEdho! Mr Ravikrishna, if your Aathiram adangivittirundhAl sari! We lose nothing! You are welcome (Adhu enna chakra vyUgathula sikkina abhimanyu mAdhiri modhalliyE declare senjutteenga,"naan badhil ezhudha mAttEn" enru?!:)

Mr Ravi KrishNa
The appellation 'fanatic' is your prerogative; it is an opinion and anybody is entitled to any opinion .
You are not an exception in expressing a fanatical opinion;or is it servile profanity , when you said ' that is to kick the butt of Raja.' Everybody has been down that fanatic road or a road close to it.
If you are shooed away by a small plethora of musical fanatics;this is just the tip of the iceberg ;eveutually you will end up vindicating 'odinaal odinaal vazhkayin ellaikkaye odinaal'.
If you are exasperated by the fact that nobody gave ear to youropinions ; welcome to the world ; it is just made that way .

My 2 cents' worth:
I partially agree with Mr. Ravi Krishna. The most important guideline for any open and public discussion should be Freedom of Expression. That means no matter how unpopular the opinions are, as long it is expressed in an agreeably decent fashion, (This can be subjective at times, I agree) it has to be respected. RaviKrishna's original opinion never crossed that boundary, but some of the responses did! If they were acceptable, then we should accept this response too, including his last paragraph!
I have followed several of his postings in both RMIM and in this DF. I must say, I have agreed with only a fraction of his postings, but have been impressed by his knowledge in music. Usenet have seen much worse responses to his opinions, but we cannot use the same yardstick for this forum if it wants to be any better in terms of decorum. It is my opinion that IR fans is to this forum is what Srilankan Tamils is to soc.culture.tamil. You guys know what happened to sct eventually. I sincerely don't want that to happen here. It is my honest opinion, flame me if you want to. It is hard to realise the damage being done when you are in a mob.
Is it true that Rajaraman was instrumental in creating this webpage? Is this the same Rajaraman who wanted a thread be removed just because it projected a highly unpopular opinion? Prey tell me you did not mean it, Rajaraman! Respectabilty does not come from the title of the forum Mr. Gopal, but in the manner in which it conducts itself. Mr. Sai Sateesh, It is true that there are a few ARR fans (`lot' is an overstatement! and I don't see any Deva fans!) that participate in this forum, but try to get one of them to honestly tell that this forum is fair and neutral to all opinions!! Do you guys really think the word `pathetic' was offensive, but 90% of the comments passed on other MD's were not?!!
Hey, I bought Devadai too, after seeing the reviews. I didn't think of it much, but I was not disappointed as much because my expectation weren't that high. May be it was RaviK's mistake to have so much faith in IR that Devadai would disappoint him. His opinion did not surprise me as much as an IR fans' opinion that Minsara Kanavu was ARR's worst. Also, I did not jump to buy Kadhalukku Mariyathai either. (I have no plans to consult a doctor and I have no problemms with my taste, Thank you.)
Mr. Ravi Krishna: I had been in your shoes, and I know how it feels. But I have learnt to ignore such responses and walk around controversies. (I know this response would be one of the exceptions.) I know it is not fair but hey, life seldom is. Do you think the world is fair? But you don't shrink yoursellf into a shell when you see opposition, do you? Come on, grow a thicker skin and please come back if you really want this forum to get better. I have seen you in RMIM, and this is nothing you can't handle.
