Is Golden Era of singers is over?

With SPB, P Suseela, SJankai reducing the songs, KJY almost out of movie songs I feel that the golden era is over.I dont know how many agree with this.

Since the current lot doesnt seems to be anywhere matching the talent of the above said singers. In my personal opinion, most of Current singers lack the basic qualities of a singer like pronounciation, expressions, clarity, versatality, voice suiting any pitch etc., Please comment on this. Same is happening with all languages.

  Ya, Platinum era has begun now. The emphasis and the positioning of music is now more global and not as regional as before. Thats why.

  I think Hariharan and UnniKrishnan are doing very well. I like UK more. But am not so sure about women singers. Seems to me the stress is on 'modern' pronounciation rather than singing. Not sure why it is only for women. But ofcourse I am not that keen an observer !!

  While Hariharan has a comfortable range and a soothing voice, he lacks versatility in expression ie mostly all songs are alike! I don't rate UK's voice to be exceptionally good for that matter but his talent could be better used if he stops singing movie songs in carnatic style! Of the female singers, Chitra needs more challenging and better songs - I think she's only limited by the lack of creativity in the tune that the composers create for her. Swarnalatha can shine better too, if and only if she chooses to sing songs in a moderate pitch. Sujatha, well, she has everything but something is lacking in her voice, something which will make you want to hear her voice again. I don't know about the other singers. But, you can never say the golden era is over because you never know!

  i think Unnimenon, Srinivas, HH and Unni are very talented, and capable....so are sujatha, kavitha subramaniam, sadhana sargam, swarnalatha and chitra.
