In the olden days of Tamil cinema, if you were
to be an acter/actress you had to be a good
singer too (Thyagaraja Bhagavathar, Kittappaa,
MSS, KB Sundarambal ...). But I think you are
mainly interested in the era of MGR-Sivaji-Gemini
and after. Some I can list:

Manorama:

Karthik, Vijay, Vadivelu, Shanmugasundari and the list goes on. Yet, not a very healthy list, as it was in the past!!No more a prerequisite and just a fad nowadays!!

Kamal's singing has always been good.
If we look at the song "Pottu Vaitha Kadhal thittam' in Singara Velan it is very difficult to reach the pitch demanded by that song. But Kamal seems to have achieved it quite easily.

Forgot to mention KBSundarambal whose voice was unique and "ganeer".
G Varalaxmi sang in many movies, notable being "Yedu thandhaanadi thillayile" from RRCholan and "Indha pachaykkilikkoru" from Nidhikku thalai vanangu.

Have we forgotten today's actors such as Ajit Kumar (in Ullasam) Vadivelu (in many movies) and Goundamani?
What about singers turned actors such as SPBala, M'sia Vasudevan, SPSailaja (she lip-synced for S. Janaki!), etc.?
Also MD's turned singers: Ilayaraja, MSV, Deva, ARR, etc.

old movies are cool new movies drool. though there are few exceptions here..
I love kamal, manirathnam movies, but sivajis acting was simply superb, though his last movies for the past 20 yeasr suck,
why cant todays movies be good?
cant we youngsters enjoy movies which dont show the butt or other sexual organs?
what is wrong with tamil cinema???
