My apology to ARR Rahman...

...and a little confession too.. Please friends..please no war in this thread. This thread it just to pay tribute to ARR.

  My apology to ARR Rahman for shooting him down among my friends and also in this forum when ARR entered Tamil Film Music. There cannot be better forum other than newtfmpage to apologize. My apology is specifically in two cases.
  1. I challenged my friend that ARR will never replace IR Commercially in TFM.
  2. ARR will run out of stuff in less than 10 yrs.
  ARR proved me that I am totally wrong. And yes my friend was right. Damn right!!. An apology to him too since I took it little personally.
  
  I have to offer special apology too--Although I never went overboard in this forum criticizing ARR. I in my mind had sarcastic view abt ARR music which I never expressed in this forum. I was wrong. My attitude was wrong. At the same time I had secret admiration too, which also I never showed in this forum barring some few pat on the shoulder.
  
  This does not mean I am bailing out, my old criticism will still stand(especially in copying stuff) and I will continue that way whenever needed. Also, I am NOT jumping from IR camp to ARR camp. I am still in IR camp giving the due respect that ARR deserved. To ARR Camp--ARR is a genius. You guys have to be proud. Everyone in India has to be. I always knew that but my ego never let me acknowledge that openly :-)

  Good NaNbaN , it requires courage to express appology. If you are really serious, then it also proves that you are a real music lover and you have the guts to appriciate good music even when it comes from your foe.
  
  Appriciating ARR doesn't mean being critical of IR.
  IR has his place that no one will ever conquere. Then why do we need this bias?

  Are you the one who , long back, posted a list af ARR's copied song , like the "chinna chinna aasai" and some nursary rhyme? If yes then, Bharath has some answer for you.

  I always thought that by liking IR and ARR I was always getting best of both worlds and my friends were clinging on to the past and denying the present because of nostralgia... and loyalty..
  
  i do that for MJ so i can empathise with that fact... thats all
  
  again i hope u r serious and i also dont want it to sound like the ARR political clan has gained one more vote in this sham of one-upmanship... you have expressed ur views and the point is well taken thats all..... because no one represents any clan here....

  IMO "chinna chinna aasai" is a reggae song a la bob marley ishtyle... most reggae song *beats* sounds similar because of the genre(like "akila akila" beat or "satyabama dheere chalna")... this was also said by ARR in one of his interview.
  
  I personally thought having reggae in tamil was a cool attempt.
  
  b.t.w the "yeleelo.." in that song wasnt that ARR.

  In one of the programme with Lioni MSV told that
  chnna chinna asai came from veeduvari uravu veethi varai manivi.. he went from one song to another with ease. He was mentioning that in context with "pazhamai maratha puthumai".

  Good. No problem. No problem if we have healthy arguments in future. No personal attacks and no filthy language.
  
  Can you repost your list of 10 or 15 songs that ARR had allegedly copied. I do not have time to scroll back to that age old page, but, I think at that time no body was there to argue on that posting, until some 4 to 5 months before, when Bharath or Cosmician (I don't remember exactly) posted replies for the list.
  
  This is not for fight, but to keep the ARR & IR discussion alive. When every bosy converge to one point than the scope becomes small. What's newtfmpage with out IR-ARR arguments (healthy).
