I noticed that ever since the bbc poll started there has been constant accusations of bogus voting both by ARR & IR fans. Both camps cannot deny multiple voting by HC fans. Now there is another song 'Dil Dil pakistan' which is trying to compete with both Vande matharam & Rakkamma kayya thattu. There is a saying in tamil whic goes 'Ooru rendu pattal, koothadikku kondattam ' and this is a perfect example for that. Another issue is why do fans treat this poll as a big issue. Everyone who comes to this thread knows what IR and ARR means to TFM. If IR or ARR wins / or if both of them loses, does it mean that they are not good when compared to Vital Signs. I am sure that some IR fans would be happy even if RKT doesnt get first place, if RKT comes ahead of VM. Similarly if VM is 2nd and RKT is 3rd ARR fans will be delighted. Either of these 2 songs will win only if we use our common sense. Now the question is who is going to bell the cat?

Yeah. you are right. but you can't ask ppl to go and vote for a song which has the more likelier chance of winning among the 2. Then, it doesn't serve the purpose of the poll and it wont be fair refeltion of people's tastes. After all , the poll is about People's favourite song. But I agree with you about the unecessary accusations going on in newtfmpage.

Take it easy guys, what is DDP wins, BBC will have to explain that to their audience. so, just relax and the poll is just pure fun right now. IR fans had their fun, now let ALW and ARR enjoy the publicity, and maybe Pakistan with 200 million people and 300 million computer users (including al qaeda members) win the poll, after all they need to have some fun, instead of having more guns! Don't involve IR anymore in this tamasha. Let us accept it, is the world voting for Rakkamma? Or, are they voting for the other two too? Mr. Bachchan winning the poll in 2000 did not land up Hollywood projects. Does the world care if Amitabh has won the poll or not? BBC' has got several agendas in such polls, i can guess several. I think BBC folks are having fun readin emails and letters. By now, they know for sure what IR is, and what ARR' is (Bombay D is right under their nose and if that is not making much of a 'music' impact, then the point is, POPULATIONARITY, China could've won it if they sent a song. So, if DDP is bigtime national anthem of the rest of the world and they support it, then DDP is indeed the most 'popular'song on the planet. I am not sure if Americans are voting for their national anthem or for Pak's na. Likewise, Vande Mataram? U think anyone cares? Today, in India the new generation don't know who Gandhi was. I don't know if this is BBC' way of their own people, that they once ruled the continent ;-) and those songs were sung since they left ;--) Reserach has revealed that most new generations Britishers are unaware of their colonizing past!
The point is, we showed support for IR n gave publicity, but it looks like futile exercise to continue with the no.1 and no.3 being patriotic themes! I don't know what!1!

s0, the title should have been bringing "MORE" rift between IR & ARR fans, but there are some decent fans in both groups fighting aimlessly over this poll, which might justify the name of this thread.

This is what I warned against in another thread! Good thing SOMEONE noticed. As I said before, this whole BBC poll is just an excuse for fans to bash other fans.

See my post in the relevant thread...totally a waste poll. I told this weeks before...
But lets not allow this paki-talibans to be at No. 1...
Forget the fight with in vote for either of the two Indian song...

Let's try this out folks. If you want to keep out the paki song from winning and still want an indian song to the 1st, vote for both RKT and VM when you try to vote. This would not split the vote and thereby increase the votes in both the songs. By doing this, you are doing a favour to your favourite music director as well as your country. what do you think?

If Rahman or DDP wins, I don't think BBC has much to write home about except "100 millions more thatn Britney and Madonna combined"! Now, if IR wins I think BBC can be proud of something worth it for the fun they are enjoyin right now. So, i say let us continue to stick with Rakkamma and bring it back to no.1
THIS IS THE REAL TEST, FOLKS

This is what sify says
----------------------
Prolific maestro A R Rahman's ''Vande Mataram'', which had the whole nation
dancing to its beat a few years ago, is also among the world's top ten
favourite songs.
The song, from the music director's music album of the same name, has bagged
the fifth place in a worldwide top ten list of songs compiled by the British
Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
''Chhaiyyaan Chhaiyyaan'', another song from the stable of the musical
genius who recently made waves on the international circuit through songs
composed for Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical ''Bombay Dreams'', has been
placed seventh in the list.
The first place in the list, compiled by the BBC as part of its 76th
anniversary celebrations, has also been bagged by an Indian song - the Tamil
''Adi Rakamma Kaiya Thottu'' tuned by the renowned Ilaiyaraja for Mani
Ratnam's ''Dalapathy'' starring Tamil superstar Rajnikanth. The song was
sung by S P Balasubramaniam and Swarnalatha.
The second place in the BBC poll went to the song ''We Don't Talk Any
More'', sung by Lord Cliff Richard while American singer Cher's ''Believe''
was at the third spot. The final results of the poll will be published on
December 21.
--------------------------
Oh God how can we conclude on the results now. VM is now leading and RKT is at No.2...Hope there isn't any new song further in the first two positions.
