yeah, i'm talking about Karthik Raja's wedding. all the info is there in the cover story of the latest issue of Kungumam magazine.
Mandolin played at the wedding in Tirupati, and so-called arch enemies of IR like K Balachander and Vairamuthu attended the reception. BR did not, but his wife did. Will this bring back the good old days? One sure hopes so.
Now, this thread can be laid to rest

BB: The reason why I had originally started the KR thread was because there were supposed to be many a celebrity from the music world attending, Premji said that even ARR would attend and that his Father(Gangai Amaran) and IR had re-consiled their differences at this time, so that the wedding would be a success!!!!! Also, I was expecting some TFM gossip, e.g. who came, who didn't and if there was any Live music e.t.c.....

Actually, I believe that more people from the rest of the cine fields gathered than TF. I was reading the list of attendance at an online newspaper, and the only female singers who attended was Chithra and Susheela. Of course, I don't know how accurate these things are.

oops, aruvi should have come after the italics after vikram in my post above.
VM going to IR's son's wedding is not hard to imagine. These are after all civilized adults who can put their creative differences behind them. Now if IR fans from our forum go to an ARR fan's wedding or vice versa, than that would be hard to believe.

"now if IR fans..." - isn't that an uncalled for, sweeping generalisation? you're adding your mite in perpetuating an image in this forum that being a fan of any one person is qualification enough to disrobe one of civility, maturity etc...

suresh,
I don't think it's uncalled for. It's the state of things in this forum. Not addressing it doesn't make it go away. Not everybody is a for or against participant in this forum, but there certainly are quite a few and I will regret this situation and address it as long as it's present; doing so does not make me a perpetrator of generalizations.

ARR isn't in London and wasn't at the time of the wedding, as far as I know, however, he was actually going to attend the wedding, I think there was some 'hitch'in his plan, which was a shame.

In his interview done by Sandhya Krishnan for http://www.indolink.com/tamil/cinema/People/2000/June/srinivas.html singer srinivas talks about how IR works. He also mentions that he is a great IR fan of the 80's.

I saw a picture of Vairamuthu next to IR at the wedding ceremony. Now we can't say that VM doesn't know about 'pannpaadu':-). The article said something like now that VM had a row with ARR, maybe IR and he will get together...

folks,
whether it is might be a
1.public stunt
2. VM might be in a dire need to make a living after his dishum dishum with ARR
3. or he really knows the "panpaadu"
one of the above might be true...
Anyway I am happy that some culture still exists in this world.
However one should really be skeptical about the success of VM And IR again.
in reality....IR has lost the market like pazham perum nadigai saroja devi (ada summa or example'kku sonnen....:-)

Dear Mr.Suresh,
I understand why you are upset with Udhaya's comment above. But I do not believe that he's 'perpetuating his own image'(as you put it).
In fact his comments above, though sarcastic, sends us all a key message. Any logical person can decipher the point Udhaya is trying to get at.
Though I only involve occasionally in the newtfmpage threads, I browse them on a regular basis and have been a witness to innumerable 'mud-slingings'
thanks to our generation of IR and ARR fans.
(My comments above do not generalise everyone participating in the threads. I have in fact learnt lots of good facts through the threads & I respect the comments and views of many)
warm regards
