Hi everyone:
There were lot of postings on the potential of IR, ARR and many more. this is not a IR vs ARR thread and iam not the one for it too. to me IR is now being underrated by everyone. might be his recent work doesnt reveal his full potential but certainly he is a master in profession. i dont think he is doing best at film music these days with exception of some movies. moreover there are many music directors who does that with good sucess even though not best at quality. ARR does very less movies these days(although they are good). I have read in some thread about ARR's future work. very good to read his reach. at the same time, we, the indians are gifted to have a maestro named, IR. i w'd like to get shared with ur info on IR's future projects or plans. there was a time when i heard that he is gona do some non-filmi projects. but doesnt seem to happen. anyways, this is jus for the information. please dont drag the usual ARR -IR fight. lets feel the music....
is he thinking abt any new non-filmi projects???expecting from the maestro!

Future of Raja?
Which Raja you mean??
Karthik Rajah or YuvanShankar Rajah?
Those are the two rajahs who shold be considered for a future. I cant remember the name of the third one!

Sarath:
Your opinion of people underestimating Raja, if based on comments in this forum, you have to take it with a grain of salt. There are a few people, you would know the people if you browse this forum for a few days, who are obsessive in insulting Raja and his contributions. I just take it as a reflection of their tastes, which in my opinion is poor, and their insecuritiy. It is a comical sight when these people think that they can diminish the mountains of achievements of Raja by indulging in constant abuse and insults that they throw in this forum. By engaging in such actions, to me, they just seem to be exhibiting thier ignorance, cheap tastes and classlessness.

Oh yeah! Ofcourse the opinions differ. i was jus curious abput the projects and thats all. by the way, Our people declare that old people cant do anymore once they dont give hits like ARR. i truely respect ARR for his abilities. but i also belive that people like IR have shown that ability to produce some good music. at the same time, if a foreign composer were in raaja's shoes, then people w'dve certainly apprecaiet watever he does. anyways no regrets.
Mr. Kum_laden:
I appreciate ur observation. i thought people will understand that Raaja refers IR. but still u c'dnt. for your information it is IR. by the way, i thought u are good at aprreciating music. dissappointed!!!!
cheers

Sarath,
I was just joking man.. i do listen to IR songs from the day i got a radio which only works when i bangon its head! I like personally ARR's music and his humbleness other than that i enjoy and appreciate even newcomer's musics. I am not a big music guy to comment on it who is better.. and I always think IR and ARR are two genius musicians we got. Dont judge a book by its cover (or title or color or the price..etc etc :)) ) man. My book has a very very bad cover i gotto tell ya!

But i think people here are getting me wrong or taking me serious. Not a self-pity but a realization.

two movies by the name "Raja" have been released ... one starrs Shivaji and the other one starrs Ajit...one has been shown in Sun TV already and will be repeated in other channels.. and the other is about to be shown anytime (Indiya thollaikaatchigalil mudhal muraiyaaga).... i think thats the future for "Raja"... (hi hi hi..!!!)
Our good yesteryear actor Balaji's own movies always hv the hero named as Raja and the heroine Radha.... (remember Vidhi, Sattam, Saval etc)... now that he aint producing any movies, the future of Raja is almost over...!!!
If u r talking about the person whoz fondly referred to as "Raja sir" in the movie/music industry, ... buddy, let me tell u... that "Raja" doesnt hv any timeframe, for icons and immortals live with time forever. u and i die, but they and their compositions remain etched in time.

Funny..that I should see a thread like this, when I was exactly wondering about this after listening to the mp3 of manasellAm. I am very postive about the future of IR in TFM. He has been consistent in giving atleast two or three good songs in all his latest releases. Melody songs have taken the front seat and a style is being evolved which is rich both sonically and musically. This is the main positive development, because the market is seeing a major emphasis in the sound more than the music. 'nee thoongum nErathil', 'enna solli paaduvatho' are not only good musically, but you can see the 'sound' is very pleasant as well. The whole of the song is backed by strings/cello in a way much different from the earlier usage by IR. The usage of electronic bass in the new movies is also very effective. I feel IR is reinventing himself successfully.
Once IR's commercial relevance is reestablished (which is already happening) we have much better chance of seeing any non-film work getting released.
BTW, I am really, really moved by two songs in manasellAm - nee thoongum and the chorus song. Wow!!!

Guys,
Raja is genius, no doubt. But at the same time why he could not work without problems with even new found directors.
If this changes, it will be good for TFM.

you guys please go thru alll of yuvans works.you will soon find out why he should be rated the best right now.ARR's music now is uncomparable to what he had done in the past.now he's looking a bit scratchy.yuvans music is fresh and great.creating good melodies is the toughest job of a music director.

Music lover,
'Theendi theendi' frm Bala id a Blatant lift frm 'Rhimjim rhimjim' frm hindi movie Mahadev composed IR. We will definetely encourage Yuvan when he stops Copying and lifting songs, Right center and left, and try to compose some original stuffs. Meanwhile try listening to another production frm IR named Karthickraja :-). IMHO he will be the future of raja.

Rajasaranam, listen to Poove Poove from Ullam. Listen to all of the other wonderful songs YSR has composed. Why focus on the one songs that is IR's?
YSR is miles ahead of KR.

I cannot accept that IR is not giving excellent piece of work now a days. If you take in last 3 years, the music director who worked in more hit movies is IR only. Eventhough the movies are good, IR plays an important role in all those movies. Eg: Sethu, Kasi, Pithamagan, Virumaandi, Alagi, Solla marantha kathai, Ramana. In Julie Ganapathy and Bharathi he did wonders. Many other hit movies lack good music. Eg: Autograph. I am sure now also, IR is giving excellent piece of work. Even at this age, he is doing wonder. It will continue, at he is one and only music genious in our country. Don't include ARR in the music genious list. He is just as good as Bharadwaj, VS and YSR.

ravi,
I am a hard-core IR fan and I can give you a couple of more songs that IR has copied... There are hardly about 10 songs he has copied. Out of 4000+ songs, this is nothing.
'Rum bum bum' is a rock and roll kind of song. Of course you will find it similar to Rock and Roll of western bcos it is not our kind of music. That's the whole point. Now why ARR's music sounds like western music?? bcos it's not our music! IR has done that once and ARR has done that many times... now what stands out in your biased mind??
Do you know how many of his songs have been copied by other MDs?? You need to have a clear understanding of indian classical and folk music knowledge to appreciate IR's work.
Full of shi t, half of shi t... idellam verum paechu than! You cannot think beyond that.
