Usage of Rap in TFM Songs....

A lot of songs these days have Rap inbetween the songs just to make the song more appealing and attractive to the youth.... Rahman , I guess was the first one to use this in TFM with Love birds... Starting from 'Samba Samba' from Love Birds till 'Hey... Here we go ( Endrendrum punnagai)'... in Alai payudhey he has used it effectively in his songs... Kalluri Salai from Kadhal Desam has a good rap bit in it... I'm trying to list pieces like this by various MDs which were really good... I'm not debating whether it is healthy towards TFM's growth or not as that is a different topic altogether....

I'm not sure whether any thread is open with this topic.... That's the reason I'm starting a new one....

  In Nilavai Konjam Kadhali from Rishi, YSR has rapped in the first interlude. Sounds damn good man.Really suits the song.

  'Vidiyum Pozhuthu' (Athma) had some rap in it. Then, there's 'Everybody can...' from the recently released Naalai, which is entirely rap.

  u mean arunagirinaadhar's "muththai thiru"? no, its a tune based on carnatic style set in raaga shanmugapriya(??). Carnatic style does have fast base songs.

  But there is a full Hindi Rap song in 1960s (may be early seventies)sung by Ashok Kumar which goes like

  Rap in Tamil music? You should check out the remixes churned out by Tamil DJs in Canada (mostly of Sri Lankan origin)....altho some nice songs get massacred some remixes are good.

  One of the earliest instances of Rap could be in the song "Yaaradi Nee Mohini" from Uthama Puthiran (1958). The MD was G Ramanathan. This song is much celebrated for being the first true "Western" song in TFM with influences from Rock music. ( I thought I also heard some Jazz starting at around 4 : 25, can somebody please confirm/negate ?). The lines below were sung by Jikki in 30 seconds flat ! ( 5 : 09 till 5 : 39)

  rahman has really done well with the RAP ..B to the A in the movie BABA.. That was done by Blaaze. He has also used Blaaze to do the rapping in Saathiya on chori pe chori. And now i hear there is a new rap song in BOYS!! Any links to download songs from BOYS?
  I also used to think that Rail Gadi in hindi by ashok kumar in 1960 was the first rap track.
