  kOvai, Madhu and others: All editing decisions have the approval of the entire DF team. vyas's post WAS a jibe at a DFer and certainly not the MD.
  Sometime back when a group of people were causing major digression in all the threads, we started a "digressors" thread and send them there. IMO it is like an exile, not a privilege. kOvai, I have seen you post in that thread. The URL is available to anyone on request or if their actions warrant it. :-).

  Some comments on Padaiyappa songs.
  
  1. Minsarakanna.. Did anybody notice that ARR has tried to start the pallavi not from 'samam' but 1/2 atksharam after 'samam'.
  He however starts the 3rd line of the pallavi back in 'samam'. Now, I am not sure why he did this?! Usually when a particular song starts after 'samam', it is usually (not always) for the reason that the last line of the pallavi extends into the first line of the pallavi and connects with the starting word of the pallavi.
  
  I did not see any reason why 'Minsarakanna' must start after the samam. Has anybody else noticed this? Looking for comments from Geetha etc...
  
  2. This comment is more of flaw in the lyrics; meaning the logic of the song 'vetrikodi kattu..'
  
  It says in the start of the charanam--'Innor uyire kondru pusipavan mirugam ada, innor uyire kondru rasipavan arakan ada, yarukum theengindri vazhpavan manithan...'etc.
  But it also says--'vetukiLiyalla, nee oru vetum-puliendru, pakaivarai vetti thalai kondu, nadaidu padaiyappa'.
  
  It denounces violence and talks about the virtues of non-violence in the charanam but it most certainly glorifies violence in the pallavi!!

  Shashi, I too noticed that split personality of lyrics in that Minsara Kanna song. I think they were meant to be two separate songs, but in the mixing process they got combined.

  I don't like MSV's voice even when he sings in his own music. Let's see how ARR camouflages the pisuru :-))
  But I love his acting, both in KaKa and KaMa. :-))

  Thalaivaa..I was worried if Mr. SK had read my intro and then would think me rude if I addressed him by his first name. But then, Indians don't like to be called 'Mr.', so I was worried about how I should address him. Ithulaiyum poiye kullappam undaakureengalE?!
  
  What can I say about ARR? He's a genius. I think unlike many he knows who he is and I am happy for him as a fellow tamilian(?) or human for his achievements. If I said anything more about him, I would have to get fried by some in this forum so I watch what I say. Of course, thalaiva, that doesn't include you!!
  
  BTW, since you seem to be totally absorbed by the young singers coming to the field, what do you think about ARR's 'Kadhalar Thinam' songs?
