Anyone has any news about her and is she one of Bombay Sisters

  Many think that BJ was first introduced by ARR in iruvar. If I remember correctly, she actually sang her first song (kai veenayai eandhum - title song)for IR in vietnam colony.

  She had her initial training in carnatic vocal from T R Balamani in Bombay. Later she moved to Madras and continue her lessons with Lalgudi Jayaraman. She is famous for singing by knowing the meaning and bhavam behind the krithis.

  Bombay Jayashree (IMO :-)) is one of the best discoveries in Carnatic Music (listen to her CD from Magnasound titled "A rare blend of raga and sahitya - especially Intasowkhya in the ragam Kapi - melodious is the word.

  Yes, Ramki, you are right. Bombay Jayashree made her debut in tfm in MSV's music in Thambathigal-1983. It was Muktha Srinivasan's film starring Sivakumar, Poornima Jayaram, Jaishankar and Silk Smitha. All the songs were by Bombay Jayashree (She was S.Jayashree then). Two that are fresh in memory are 'Oruvan oruthi' and 'Vaada Kanna harehare gokulakrishna'-both SPB-Jayashree duets.
  She even sang a song for Silk in this film!

  bombay jayshree has a melodious voice her album's
  like "radha madavam","amirtham","listener's choice","devi kirthis","brindavanam","classical melodies"are some of her cassestes which prove her performance and the knowledge of selecting songs sequentially without getting bored! my family was a fan of bj and we dont miss her music releases .
