If you are meaning title song, it is rehash of his own song "Kadal Maharani" from Kadal Parisu(Kamal, Ambika and Radha). Hear it, you will see the resemblance.

Sri to direct a film

Sri, the music director, would soon be turning director. He took gap for a couple of years as the music director. Now he prepared a subject for a bilingual film to be made in both Telugu and Tamil. This film would go on
floors in the month of June 2002. Another interesting aspect of this film is that 5 different music directors are composing a song each for this film. These directors are Ilaya Raja, AR Rehman, Mani Sharma, Deva and
Anu Malik

Vekatesh,
The movie won a couple of state awards. The songs are very good. I am not sure of its commercial faring.

THE ACE director, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, is teaming up with Ilaiyaraja for a new film, "Nizhalkuthu'', a film based on the story of a hangman with a Tamil background.

Adoor says the choice of Ilaiyaraja as music director for the film was due to the specific need for a score with a Tamil base. A lot of importance has been given to music in the film, though there are no songs in it, says Adoor. However, the characters in the story share a passion for music.

For the film, Adoor has chosen several veteran actors whose talents, he feels, have not been fully tapped by their directors so far.

While Oduvil Unnikrishnan enacts the role of the hangman, Jagathy Sreekumar, Indrans, Murali and Sukumari appear in supporting roles.

The film, which was shot at locations in Kulasekharam, Suchindram and other parts of Tamil Nadu, has been completed and is all set for release next month.

Thanks for your list,

If we see the **real** status of these projects as per the industry news we hear, IR is working actively only on these projects,

1.Devan
2.Ivan
4.Solla Marantha Kathai
7.Vella
10.Adoor next malayala movie

Devan audio is finished, A few songs composed for Ivan, No idea about Solla MaRantha Kathai and Veela, Adoor's movie has no songs,

Theruvil Oru Geetam, Vinayan's next movie starring madhavan and laila, Kasturi Raja next Movie, Bala next movie and G.V's next movie (Directed by C. J. Bhaskar), Komali - these movies are still in 'News' or 'Talks' Stage, Not started yet OR no official announcements confirming IR as the MD, Isn't it ?

Danush, Music & Kamarajar in tamil and the three telugu movies mentioned here were started looooooooong back and I am not sure if these projects are still alive ... Thiruvaasakam project also came as a news and after that no updates at all (Yesterday I listened to 'ThaLapathi' song and was amazed (for the n'th time :-) by the way the devaara song 'kuniththa puruvamum' is mixed with a 'fun' kind of song ... Hope IR does more like this ...)

My intention is not to say IR has less projects ... But I am happy expecting less from him and being happy with whatever I get ... no use in stil projecting IR as the MD with most movies in hand ... he crossed all those limits long back !! If he gives me two quality movies per year - like azhagi and Kaasi - which are praised for Songs as well as BGM, thats what makes me happy, than doing 10 Ramarajan movies per year !
