Hi all,
As we all know it is Maestro's composition for both of the Prabhu Deva's music...
though both of them were hit up to certain extend...
the style of both are totally contrast...
Raasaiya has more touch of techno, very youthful while Time has more IR stamp on it....
what is the reason...could it be the involvement of KR and YSR in Raasaiya which made the difference in Raasaiya?
Just would like to know more...no thrashing required please

pratheepan...the mastana2 song as well as the other song where PD dances with elephant, monkey & Vadivelu in the jungle is deft more like YSR or KR style to me..isn;t..
in fact it is something similar to what we got to hear in Kathala Kathala

compare these three songs for Prabhu deva by IR:
chinna rAsAvE sitheRumbu....(wAlter vetRivEl)
masthAna masthAna...........(rAsaiyA)
kAdhal nee dhAnA............(time)
each one is of a different genre...IR is never type-cast...

Paran, i guess you might have felt like that because of his orchestration. ie, if you take a song of his and listen to it, some instruments stop , the other take over, then it stops, starts..its a complex way (a unique way, infact). No one really knows which pattern he composes his songs. Listen to kavidai Kelungal from punnagai mannan. (Orchestration brilliance that song)
KR, infact probably follows the pattern and u might have thought that KR composed it. But for people who have been hearing his compositions from the day he started composing, we still dont have any answers, in which genre his songs falls.
For a small tid bit, take the song "Andhi Mazhai" from raja parvai. Its pure fusion, but a fusion of different level. A fusion any one yet to delve .

Raasaiyah had more experimentation though personally I like Time.
Raasaiyah songs had stupid lyrics. But the songs had lot of novelty.
Dindugallu song is a new type of folk which Raaja or anybody had not attempted before.
Paatellam super hit thaan ketukko is a superb rock nd roll song and SPB should have sung this song.
Karuvaatu kozhambu song has a very different, new feel to it and in the stanza u can see the blend of some carnatic music too
Kaadhal vaanile and another sad song are good melodies.
But Time is a classic for me. Niram pirithu paarthen is the song of the century
Naan thanga roja - Oh my!!! you can see the fusion of Mohanam and some foot tapping rythms in that song
Thavikkiren and Kaadhal neethaana are pure melodies with some electronics in the interludes
Muthunilave - although I didn't like it much has some interesting twists when the female singer starts to sing in a semiclassical style.
Time's tile score is also astounding

"Dindugallu song is a new type of folk which Raaja or anybody had not attempted before. "
I beg 2 differ with you :)
When the female lead voice starts it just sounds like a mundane IR folk number.
Can remember the tune but forgot the lyrics.

I prefer Time to Raasaiyya.
If IR can give me one song like "Niram pirithu paarthen" and "Naan thanga roja", I really don't mind thousand inane songs that are belched out by other MDs. My song of the decade is made.
