  So, what does VS say about `Raja trend'? Either there was no trend or no single trend or many times he set the trend or he was the ultimate trend setter?

  in raaga.com songs from his latest release "alli thantha vaanam" are there.. 2 songs thathom and Miya make a good first impression..VS should atleast be given the opportunities that are going towards SAR and Deva's ways..
  
  in that interview VS has mentioned about some of his songs not reaching the audience because of the movies flopping..Ii would arasiyal(vaa saki, vaarayen thozhiye) and Delhi Durbaar to that list..

  Yesterday clearly belonged to Vidyasagar! He was interviewed almost in every tamil channel! He was there talking about Vedham, Alli thantha vaanam and Poovellam un vaasam!

  A very level headed interview. He has finished the interview in a sentence of confidence. Some of the best melodies of VS are pretty original and unheard (that applies for ARR / IR / MSV too though the fraction is small). Some laudable numbers of VS are:
  
  (1) poonkatru veesum
  (2) malare mounama
  (3) anbe anbe nee en piLLai
  (4) nee kaatru naan maram
  (5) vaa sakhi
  (6) malaikkaatru vandhu - original in mallu

  My all-time fave VS melody is 'oru kezhvi unnai ketkiren' from Priyam! VS had infact introduced Sadhna Sargam to Tamil with this song. Excellent melody and damn good orchestration.

  I think VS deserves the present success he has got. I just hope he chooses his future projects carefully and developes a niche. Wish he could work with some good directors like Mani or KB. It seems unlikely now, but with a few more good hits, I'm sure he'd reach there.

  I remember reading the reviews for Dhill and almost all the reviews singled this song out for the lyrics. Remeber vikatan saying the lyrics were by Kabilan.

  I swore that "un samayalarayil" was another bad song by VM. Now that I learn it's by a newcomer, I feel worse. This is a shameless, copycat rendition of Vairamuthu's listing formula. I can't believe the praise for this song by Kabilan. I'm all for new blood, but why can't they show their originality like Arivumathi, Vaasan or Thaamarai have.
