  Getting tamil channel is a premium agreed however!...$99 for 3 months dont you think it too much. Even this is ok - assuming you give an excellent programing.,
  but dish including installation is about 450-500,
  when I can get about year+ free programing from dishnetwork with all the channels,...
  most of us feel this is a rip off?,
  Can this be got in the cable? , why cant these channels be available in the local cable?
  If you consider this option, i am sure you will get more connections.
  Just me opinion, convince me! .I will get it.

  Be extremely cautious when you are dealing with "new Indian TV ventures" especially when it is from Canada. I and a few of my friends got royally scr*wed by ATN (of Canada) when they touted 24 hours of South Indian TV. All we got was a repeat of about 3 to 4 old video cassettes. If possible check the archives for old threads on "SUN TV in USA".
  
  Indian businesses are extremely unscrupulous in terms of promised content versus actual delivery.

  ATN sucks , I had ATN for sometime. ATN Tamil Channel people are just learning now.
  
  TVI has people from Doordharshan, Roopavahini and many more professionals.
  
  They have good and quality programs.
  
  I agree with you, ATN is really bad. But not TVI.

  Interesting, RajaG.
  In the eastern states in Australia (eg. Sydney, Melb etc), there were some Indian companies ripping off the local Indians there wit promise of Sun TV, but the Sun Tv coverage does not even extend to the eastern parts of Aust. The most reliable site I have come across so far, to find coverage & freq info is http://www.satcodx.com/eng/ As an example, Sun TV coverage from NSS, can be found here: http://www.satcodx-op.com/NSS/eng/coverage.cgi?NSS703EH and other info here: http://www.satcodx3.com/0570/eng/

  Sun Tv was available through numtv and it was extremely good. For some unknown reason, they removed sun tv and all we get now is Jaya TV. Does anybody know if any other dot com site is offering sun thru the net?

  I'm very very happy to see that thdere are people living in the U.S and Europe and Canada who feel that they are missing Tamil Movies and Programs.
  
  What the F**** is Sun TV and the likes doing for people like us ?? they are letting some filty XXX .COM's get rich ??
  We Tamil's love quality.. quality wather it be in form of Ilayaraja's music or A.R Rehman's music. Qualtiy in form of Kamals' Acting or Rajini's style. Quality be it Kalaignars dialogues or Sivaji's delivery, Quality be it ManiRathnam's direction or P.C's camera, quality be it S.Ve's dramas or Vivek's comedies...
  
  So isn't there a Quality business out there to provide us the Quality Tamil Programs we need, sorry WE DEMAND...

  I totally agree with the earlier posting that ATN is terrible. I had this channel when we got a free preview of the digital channels. Thank heavens I new the quality. It is the same video tape again and again and why the hell do we have to watch someone's wedding tapes? They don't even want to pay, buy and relay movies. All movies relayed are from one of the tamil channels in India. They play the movie and some black cover comes and covers the logo of the tamil channel where they have recorded the movie from and as a result you will have to watch actors without heads or the screen's bottom quater is covered off. The viewer can also clearly make out this thing. I don't know why they even continue like this. When we complain they say it is a DVD print and thats the reason it is like that. Are we paying to watch half a screen? Why don't they charge us only half the price?
  
  People reading this please don't get ATN Tamil channel available in Canada.
  
  I am not sure about TVI because I haven'nt ordered it yet.
  
  Does any body know if we can get SUN TV in Canada via any dish systems. I know it has come to the U.S, just want to know if it has entered Canada yet. It is definatley worth paying for it.

  At least we are getting some tamil channels in US, that is really a boon for us. Unfortunately SUN TV is filled with serials, otherwise it is OK. Once vijay comes here we have more options

  It is interesting to see how concerned are so many tamilians out there about watching a decent tamil channel. I live in the Middle East and have been sending numerous mails to Sun TV to spread their wings to the Middle East to cover this area also. Even though they say that their channels are available in the Middle East, it is not true. They do not seem to give a damn about we guys living here. It looks like they are more concerned about the money they get from India and Far East.
