  Pithamagan almost completely belongs to Bala and IR mainly, then only the 4 cast along with the top notch technicians.
  
  If you compare the performance of Kamal in Anbe Sivam and Performance by combined Vikram & Surya in PM, latter is far & far behind. Commercial success means NOTHING to a decent viewer.
  
  But Surya deserves some credit, he tries to do different roles from his previous films ( after ofcourse Nandha ) . While, Vikram does the formala. IF Dhool was success he will do Sami, If Sami then arul. its a continuos loop now for him. He is in the field for a long time and looks like he needs some more lessons. I was one of the very few people who went to theatre for Sethu in Torontom Canada. i was very delighted then. Now i am totally disappointed the artist(?) he has turned into. Do not give credits to him for Pithamahan.

  YSR has done a supreme BGM work in Perazhagan. The tille music piece which is later used during a crucial emotional scene between chinna and Senbagam when she sees him first. I watched the movie in an excellent DTS sound theatre twice specially to catch this music piece again...I wish they would release such pieces together with the song CDs.....YSR the great!!!!!

  Perazhagan- A fun movie for all with great perfromances-should see it once for surya's performance
  
  *ing Surya (double role), Jothiga (double role), Vivek, Manorama, and others.
  
  STORY: What's more important looks or the heart of the person.hunchback ugly guy,blind girl,normal girl & psycho guy. normal girl dies, psycho guy is sad.blind girl gets normal girls eyes, so psycho guy wants her (sorta) blind girl operation possible b/c of good hearted hunchback.misunderstandings after operation drag the story along to the happy ending we all knew was going to happen. Basically we have seen some of these elements before: Thullatha Mannam Thullam & Nilave Mugam Kattu come to mind. But with great performances keeps the person entertained for the most part...could have sped up 2nd half.
  
  BAD:
  seen some of the story elements before.
  slow second half (kind of repetitive making psycho surya stalk blind jo many times-audience gets the idea after the first two times)
  boasts of being a family entertainer unlike the others (meaning not much violence and wat not...yet surya write in blood,cuts himself,and brutally beats the crap out of sum people...i guess its aite compared to the slashing of necks in Arul...but meh i see it all as the same)
  surya's second role nothing special about it-same ol same ol from him in his psycho guy role.
  no difference in jothiga's character...simply there to make the story happen.
  
  GOOD:
  surya's performance as the hunchback
  not being able to tell that both roles were done by surya
  not unnecessarily showing the two roles together trying to play with crappy graphics (watch villain to see what i mean) the movement wasnt jumpy when the two do appear together
  tho the songs by themselves arent very great; they gel well with the movie (cept for katraenbatha-out of place like n e other thamizh movie just pops up)
  vivek's comedy isnt a side track, goes along with the movie big plus.
  BGM- at times was good,overall avg.i liked one piece i forget when it came but in the second half it reminded me of Nandha, but i enjoyed that one piece.
  
  OVERALL:
  A good movie to sit down and watch with the family. You'll really enjoy surya's performance; one might not care for the story but everyone will remember and love the character Chinna for a long time.
