can anyone please define what is ensembles,bass guitar,
counter point,percussions etc etc

hey guys i come across many terms like what i have mentioned above when i browse thru music pages.i have no knowledge about the theory part of music.i think many wud have doubts like me.
so people who know about these things can explain to others like me by giving examples of songs in which they are used..they can also explain many technical things in music like instruments,recording techniques,voice range etc etc..waiting to see a lot of explanations.

What a timing! I was planning to write a
hands-on workshop on composing and your question
comes up!

OK, here we go, I invite others to chip in
to add their knowledge and correct my mistakes.

I will first give a conceptual introduction,
and will provide recording examples soon.

To enhance discussion, I am planning to post
this as a series of articles, so that people
coming later can read the articles and post
in separate threads to avoid oblivion and mixup.

Hello guys,

Fingering is very important for any musical instrument. Once you practise playing a musical instrument using right fingers, you can play any difficult piece without hesitation.

practise this exercise whenever you find time

This exercise is for keyboard beginners

Fingering:
----------

C Major Scale:

Right Hand:
-----------

keep your right hand thumb on Treble C, count 1, 2, 3, 4 and play this sequence

C D E F G A B C

1 2 3 1 2 3 4 5

Note: you have to cross the thumb when you play F note

Now play upside down (pona route la thirumba vaanga) using the same fingers

Left Hand:
----------

keep your left hand pinky (little finger) on middle C, count 1, 2, 3, 4 and play this sequence

C D E F G A B C

5 4 3 2 1 3 2 1

Note: Cross middle finger after you play G
Your thumb is always the 1st finger

Now descend.

Practise Right hand and left hand seperately and then try playing with both hands. (ingathaan udhaikkum!)

write to me once you are comfortable with C major scale.

here C is middle C and B is the note which is lower to Middle C
5 3 1 are the fingers. (remember 1 is thumb and 5 is pinky finger)
C & E is a double note.

Are you the one who had played 'Ilayanila', 'Kaatril' and 'Sandana Kaatre' in MIDI? If so, can you please share the information about what type of instruments you have used to play the above songs. Especially, "Kaatril endan geetham' was super. Thanks!

try this exercise using both hands

keep your right hand thumb on middle c and left hand little finger on bass c. Play two identical notes at a time.

count: 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &

The last C is a semibreve or a whole note. you have to sustain the last note for 4 counts.

well.. why don't we try a 2 flat scale (Bb major)?

B flat major has two flats (Bb and Eb).

Left hand:

Note: The fingering is different from C major scale
