Why no(less !!) female participation in newtfmpage DF?

All times in EST +10:30 for IST.

Last time when i started the same thread, we had a nice discussion until the chatters spoiled everything. I was away for a few days and they hijacked the whole thread and Admin jumped in to close that thread.

Lets discuss the issue in this new thread. Why do you feel there is less female participation in newtfmpage? What are the reasons? Is this the same status in other film music threads also? Is music gender oriented.

  In my experience, I have found women to be more knowledgeable about music, especially classical music. Think about the women in your lives - mothers, sisters, friends. The average woman, in general, is more more tuned in to fine arts than the average man.
  
  Women, however, may not be posting in threads like these because they are non-confrontational by nature when it comes to things that don't affect their daily lives. (Yes, there are assertive women and aggressive women even, but they are few and far between.) Men on the other hand, like a good discussion/healthy argument (regardless of how much they know about the topic), which sooner or later, especially in a free forum, gets out of hand and leads to name-calling and liberal use of choicest expletives. Some people believe in defending their lack of knowledge by heaping verbal abuses on the other person, casting aspersions on the other person's lineage, occupation, moral values, familial relationships, etc. This requires a lot of level-headedness and maturity on a man's part to shrug off, but an incredible amount of thick skin, perspective, and spunk to transcend the societal stereotypes that we have propagated for centuries, for a woman to brush such violations aside and continue the discussion.
  
  Would a forum meant exclusively for women (if ever we could devise a way to keep out the men) provide a healthier environment for women to venture out of their shells and participate in an unbiased, respectful exchange of knowledge and appreciation of music? That's the real question.
