A Query on Raja - Info Required

Hi Guys,

I am Karthik. A silent spectator of all the forums for the past 2 years. I had an argument with a friend of mine who is a die-hard fan of ARR.
He said that IR has not received even one National Award:-( (ARR - 4 Awards - Roja, Minsara Kanavu, Lagaan and Kannthil Mutham…..). Can anyone of you help me????

  rajasaranam implies most of the arr die hard fans are youth while only ppl well past their young age alone likes IR's music.......
  
  i dont accept this fact..... even young ppl like IR's music but thing is they like ARR's music too whenever it is nice.. thalai naraitha kizhavargal than scold ARR...coz they have grown up with the mentality that to praise someone, badmouth his opponent..........

  as far as I know...IR has received 3 National Awards...

  IR just won 3 national awards!,he deserved more.As for ARR i have nothing against him but even his diehard fans will accept that KM&Minsara Kanavu was not really National award stuff but Roja&Lagaan certainly deserved it.

  Indian National Award is an award given by a committe of some 25+ members (1 from each indian state). how can we rate musicians in a country with 100 crore people ... just by accepting opinions of just 25 people? the real award for a musician is the number of fans and hits.

  What you imply is IR getting awards is a happening in the period "Long Long Ago and so long ago that many here now adays did not even have parents decided as that time...
  
  This implies that IR's supremacy is the thing of the past and now a days he is not recognised..
