Thangap Padhumai

I recently saw this movie on video. The movie sucks big time, but many of the songs were wonderful. "Mughatthhil Mugam Paarkkalaam",

"Indru Namdhullame Pongum Pudhu Vellame"

"Varuven Unnaith Thedi"

etc. The last one was a tour de force. I rewound to see the title but there was no mention of the music director. All the info about the music consisted of the lyric writers viz. Udumalai Narayana Kavi, Pattukkottai and Kannadhasan.

I would like to know the following:

Who are the female voices ?

Who is the MD ? I would guess it is G. Ramanathan from the style, but it could be KV Mahadevan, SM Subbaiah Naidu, CR Subbaraman, any of the Telugu MDs like Adhi Narayana Rao or even MSV - TKR. I think this is movie is too early for them, but I dont know for sure.

Anyone know the details ?

  MD : Viswanathan Ramamurthy.
  
  This film came in 1959, two years after their first film N.S.Krishnan's PANAM in 1957.
  
  Before this film, they scored music for some 20+ films Sugam Enge, Gulebagavali, Perra maganai virra annai, Thalai koduththaan thambi,Paasavalai, Paththini theyvam, Pudhaiyal. Mahadevi,Maalaiyitta mangai,Padhibakthi.
  
  Other films in1959 Amuthavalli, Bagap pirivinai,Sivagangai seemai, Raja malaya simman.

  mugaththil mugam and aarambamaavathu are by Pattukkottai Kalyaana sundaram. Not sure of others though.

  To my untrained ignorant ears, the three songs sound alike. "Yaar Tharuvar" and "Maname Muruganin" seem to hv the same metre too. By any chance, are Adaanaa and Hindholam similar ragas ?
