Hi there everyone- i was just lookin at the ratings on how popular the latest music is.....and wat i cant seem to understand, is why YSR's Junior Senior is placed so much higher than ARR's KM, in terms of percentage. i'm a great admirer of YSR, but this forum just seems to hate ARR. i cant understand. would someone please explain.
thanx

check out the total number of votes
JR - 93
KM - 2000+
Not a good sample for comparison
Therefore, NOthing's wrong with ARR.

Sarat,
Its a true point. but you know wat i mean. i've been readin all the threads which say ARR, is no good and YSR is amazing. i understand why ppl put that tag on YSR- i even do it myself, but i also put that tag on ARR.

Its the underdog thing
We loved watching ARR replace IR from the pedestal and we loved ARR for some years.
Now we are getting bored , so we want a new icon. Too bad for ARR but I believe this is the way it works.
since theres nobody really outstanding right now, it could have been anybody, but since YSR is churning out the best of the lot, hes the rising star.

puhleeeeze, i beg to differ.
ARR's been the numero uno for some time now. Guess it's difficult to replace him at present.
To my knowledge he's the only Tamil MD who's probly got equal fans in all 4 corners of India. (OK.. maybe a little extra down in Sth Ind)...
And he's received adulation like no other MD... ever!
and i dont think I will ever get bored of him.. I really dont know what happenned to IR. but hey, the title mentions ARR.

"but this forum just seems to hate ARR. i cant understand. would someone please explain"
Leaving the ratings aside, I have asked this same question before and examined this issue at great length. Some insight was thrown into this phenomenon of ARR hating, while many didnt even want tat thread to exist and some even tried moronic ways to sabotage the thread. For more info, have a look here:

btw, the title of that thread was quite similar to this one: "What's wrong with ARR haters?"

Hmm.. true that ARR's compositions have been suffering off late.. but YSR is sad. Honestly. The chap's music is so darned reminiscient of earlier MDs.. he lacks originality.. ever track he churns out has either a trace of IR or a touch of ARR.. never a unique conception.

I do think YSR is a brilliant md- however, he hasnt brought a new style with him. wat i cant understand is people sayin ARR is goin down. after KM, i just cant understand it. ppl have gotta understand the purpose of the songs in KM. they were not 'get up and dance' songs. but having said that, they were brilliant. i appriciate that not everyone is goin to love the songs, and that not everyone is goin to love ARR, but his music speaks volumes.

I think that YSR has brought a new style of music into TFM in that you cannot classify his style. He changes his style from song to song and that is the attraction in his music. He seems to have a song to suit every person whatever age they are.
I don't think that YSR is knowcking ARR out of TFM or anything, but as ARR slowly spreads himself to other international projects, it is natural that he cannot continue to put the same effort and recieve the same glory as he did in earlier days when TFM was his only forte.
YSR is the MD who will become the hot seller in TFM after ARR and that is not a personal attack on ARR@s music as I am a big fan. But YSR is the only MD currently who is sellign well, producing quality music and upcoming.
It is not whether AR or YSR is better, it is merely that is ARR was to leave TFM, YSR would become the most sought after MD due to his high audience numbers. I am stating this as I heard from a friend who owns a music shop that Thulluvadho Elamai has now passed 4 lakh tapes in sales and Junior Senior has sold 1.75 Laks pieces in the UK. YSR is the best selling MD after ARR both nationally and internationally.

Raju,
thanku for a nice response. wat u say is very true, and i too acknowledge these facts. i dunno wat u feel on this, but i think YSR is a croud pleaser- and rightly so- i mean that is wat u aim to do- but by this i mean, ARR is experimentin more, and churning out music that suits his style (as well as the film)- a classic example of this, would b PP. he has created an albulm that didnt go down too well with ppl, but the song Azhaga Sugama was one that the fans liked- cos it was 'normal' stuff ??

the fact that that Raja family (IR, YSR & KR) are always, and always, at the top of the tfmoage chart should tell u something.
raaga.com and musicindiaonline.com have more reliable ratings.

Yaaro I am sure because it seems that all Indians are buying YSR music!I too was shocked with this number and I queried it but I was replied that many young Gujrathi and Hindi people are buying YSR music after hearing Idhu Kadhala at the club nIght Anokha. Apparently there is a pirate mix of Idhu Kadhala which is being played in clubs.
I tried to obtain this version but it is very limited and hard to get!
All surprising news to me!
