Playback Singers as Composers

Dear All,

Shall we discuss about Playback singers and the films they have composed for and how they performed as Composers. As far as I know, The following Play Back singers have composed for films / Private albums!

1) Dr.SPB - Sikaram(Super Hit)/Thudikum Karanghal, any other films/ private/devotional albums, sources say Dr.SPB has composed up tp 70 odd films.

2) TMS - Devotional albums, not sure about Films??

3) AMR - Majority of his songs were composed by him, his famous 'TheEn Nilavu' is a treat!

4) Kishore Kumar - He scored for lots of Hindi films, not sure about any names

5) S.Janaki amma - She scored for 1 tamil movie as far as I know, can not remember the name

6) P.Susheela amma - Not sure

7) Dr.KJY - I am sure he must have done many devotional songs, but not sure about movies

8) Dr.BMK - again, must have done Devotional/Carnatical based songs, but not sure aboyt movies!

9) M.Rafi - Not sure

It would be great if we could discuss this!

  SJanaki composed for one telugu movie called Mounaporatam. The movie was a reasonable success and the songs were also quite good and successful. I remember atleast 3 songs from the Vividh bharathi days.
  
  SPB had composed for lots of telugu movies, to the order of 50 or so. His prominent ones in telugu were Thoorpu velle railu, Mayuri, Padamati Sandhyaragam etc.. Beautiful songs in all of these movies. He had a good time as a composer in telugu in the 80s.
  
  Other singer-composer names should include Bhanumathi, P.Leela, M.M.Srilekha who had composed in telugu (not sure of tamil though).
  
  Vanijairam is another composer mostly of devotional albums.
  
  Srinivas recently composed his own private album, I forget the name.

  Regarding Dr.SPB's composing, I think there was film called 'Mayuri' in Tamil, and if I am right, it was composed by M.Vasudevan, any ideas?

  I guess the great Ghantasala was quite a famous composer as well, who could forget his tamil film, Maya Bazaar

  Naa unagaluku munbe, sonen, naa Ragu illenu, neengha pidicha muyalukku 3 kaal-nu sonna, naa onnum panna mudiyathu, I explained this to Geno, many times.
  
  There is another person who posts as 'Hari' or 'HariKrishna' here, he always says Dr.SPB/Dr.KJY, ....etc, so is he Ragu as well.
