Is the job of Music Director dead in TFM?

upon seeing the title of the article i thought someone was echoing my fears!!! ;---))

anyway, do u think the job of music director/composer is gone from Indian films? has it become standardized template stuff as in Hollywood? cra_p songs and no place for songs anymore as they look ridiculous these days of unexpressive actors and storyline that requires no songs but only backlighting ;--) i really think music songs direction is all gone from Indian films, where music was required as long as there was naivity, drama and energy! now films are dark, real, surreal, bleak , etc...
