It is believed that in order to garner more awareness for his Symphony, the Raja may release a Jazz album. I think, that is a wonderful idea. We all know the Raja can do it and hope he does it.
Unreliable sources say, Raja believes that for his album to achieve international acceptance, his reputation as a composer of a wider repertoire, which should include the most universally popular form of music, namely Jazz, should precede any attempts at releasing a symphony. It is also a strategy to attract those audiences to his symphony at an international level.
Symphonies, a few of the several brilliant ones are heard in the mass circle, such as No.5, 9 (Beeethoven); No.25, 41 (Mozart). Now here, did the Raja say his was going to be No.1? Wait a minute...
Hmm... I can't think of any No.1 symphony as being popular in the symphony stands. Er... I think, Beethoven's 5 and 9 outnumbered, so to speak, his No.1. So, I think Raja can name his No.1 as the slot is vacant in the popular charts for symphonies. But, we must wait till he produces his symphony No. 5.
Symphonies beyond the four afore-listed are popular only in a vastly 'extinticting' circle of intellectuals, who have quite lived their useful lives. I mean, do you remember the Tom Cruise movie, The Bite of the Ancient Vampires or something?
Patrons with discerning tastes, who used to be called connoisseurs of music, are now listeners of ARR music. It is quite a progress, really. But, I mean the Raja is waking up. Jazz it up.
On the other end of the universe, speculation is rife among the elite Jazz musicians in India, if Raja will actually do it with Indian musicians. Again, speculation runs that Jazz musicians from America will be sought after. As you see, other than Pandits Zakir Hussain and Ravi Shankar, we do not have musicians with skill levels suitable for popular music presentation and with such international following.
One of the promoters of the idea was the Big B himself, who is also looking at hosting a Miss World contest abroad, with the Raja composing a Jazz album, suitable for the culture of that host country. I think that is a great idea, too.
But, the big question is: Will the Raja and Big B make a movie together to up the flagging popularity despite all that publicity and awareness speculation stuff?
Let us hope for further details from reliable sources to hear the latest on these speculations, which I hope turns into reality, like Kamalhaasan's Marudhanayagam and his victory over the British queen. Jokes apart, who is composing the music for Marudanayagam?!

I think speculations may even end as regards the Raaja, but Nithin's speculations posting about Raaja seem to be never ending :)
