Bhangara Vs Dapanghuthu

  "Aadaludan paadalai kaettu" from "Kudiyirundha koil"... probably the first and the best song for Tamil bhangra..
  dappanguthu has roots in our culture... so its almost omnipresent in every other movie... "oothikinu kadichukkava" from "ninaivirukkum varai" is one...didnt it make u tap ur foot?

  would not u classify "adi rakama kaiyaithatu" from Tahalapathy & "adi rakku muthu rakku" from Ejaman as dapanguthu?

  Adi Rakamma has WCM,Carnatic and whatnot in it?....it is catchy but i dont think it is a dappanguthu...infact it is one among the best of IR

  i think the IR song which had lots of Bhangra style in it is "Dilubaru Jaane" from kalaignan

  IMHO "dilbaru jaane" from "kalaignan" is Dandiya kinda song... same with "dandiya aatamum aada" from "kadhalar dhinam"....
  and adding "rakkamma kaiya thattu" and "raakku muthu" is a no-no..

  I am not sure about IR compsoing any Bhangara types songs, but our Copy mannan, theen isai thendral, bet scopy cat in the world, DEva had copied several punjabhi tunes.

  dabanguthu > bhangra because
  it has more lyrics while bhangara has only hoi balle hoi shava.
  balle shava ellai shava balley.
  Dabanguthu la vodu katti adalam while bangra orey step than rendu verala mela thuki right leg slight mela thuki kudika vendiyathuthan.

  thiru, it could be that you dont understand the lyrics for bhangra songs - a punjabi would probably say bhangra>dappankuthu because it has 'more lyrics' :-)
