was Annakkili IR`s first movie?

Here is an amazing news which I remembered when I was listening ti the song Th`en sindhudhe vaanam from the movie ponnukku thanga manasu-this was a muthuraman/vidhubala/jayachitra starrer ,directed by P.Madhavan.This film`smusic director was SP Venkatesh,for whom IR was assistant at that time and it was IR who actually composedthis song,ofcourse with the full blessing of SPV.
Another song in this film,Thanjavooru seemaiyile,kannu thaavi vandhen ponniyamma ...was also composed by IR .This song was subsequently recyclrd by IR himself as the title song for the film Enga ooru paatukkaran.some on had pointed out the similarities between both the tunes and had accused IR of copying-of course, the composer for both the songs was IR.
If you listen to Th`en sindhudhe vaanam,you realise it is a classical and typical IR number with all the typical touches and trademarks of IR.
This is probably the first song by IR,even before Annakkili was composed.Has anyone else heard about this piece of news?is it correct?

  I think you are right. I heard it from an interview of IR in the TV. "Then sindhuthE vaanam" was composed by IR. Infact in the interview, IR chose this song to highlight the lyrical aspects of the song. He said that the same song was composed by him for a kannada movie(donno tha name) for which the lyricist did a wonderful job.(He even sang the first three lines of the kannada version) He redid it in tamil and he was all praises for the lyricist (I think it is Kannadaasan).

  That song has a soft melodious tune.. sung
  wonderfully by SPB/SJ. Even the picturization is great..
  heavy rain.. lots of water has come into the basement house
  where Sivakumar stays.. and he sits amidst the water pool

  "Then Sindhudhe Vaanam" is copied from Kannada Movie "Taayi Devaru", the song is "Haayaagide Eee Dina" beautifully composed by GKV and sung by PBS and SJ.(*Rajkumar and Bharathi). Oh what a pretty song.I have both Kannada and Tamil version.
