Golden era of tamil film music

1940 t0 1950

1950 to 1960 - MSV

1976 to 1985 -IR'

1985 to 1992 - IR

1992 till date -ARR

Personally i feel the year from 1976 to 1985 is best.Your thoughts please....

  1960-76 where is it?That is where lie THE golden era for TF and TFM 1960-1970.
  
  Great movies by Bhimsingh,Sridhar,good music by MSV-TKR,KVM,GR,good acting by stalwarts,good lyrics by KD and Valee.Most number of 25 weeks movies were released during this period.

  Too subjective to come to a consensus within oneself and with others as well.
  Today, I feel like the golden period was from 1975-85

  1976 to 1985 is the best.
  Not because of just IR. MSV, got rid of old image oriented actors and came up with some fresh tunes. IR had some great time with young BR, M'dran, and later with KB and the likes. There was some TR music too.
  
  90's had only few ARR movies (and half the time in hindi) with loads of deva and SAR ..waste.
