I have feeling that it could be one of Mohans hits like, Payanangal Mudivathilay, Udhaya Geetham. But even if they werent the biggest selling, it has to be one of his best.

Some of IR's albums in telugu are still selling, the tops are: Sagara Sangamam (salangai oli), seethakoka chilaka (alaigal oiyvathillai), Jagadeka veerudu athiloka sundari, Shiva, Chanti and Swathi mutyam. Probably Sagara Sangamam would rank highest in sales.

I think Thalapathi was advertised as the highest selling album of IR. I don't think any of his later albums broke that record.

no albums matched the sales of 'Chinna Thambi'. Not even Dalapathi.

I think Sriram may be correct. CHINNA THAMBI was record breaker. The movie itself is one of the biggest blockbusters in Tamil filmdom. And the beauty of it is that IR composed the songs in record "45 MINS". Isn't that amazing.

Dalapathi is the top in his list of highest selling albums.Even Roja stood behind that when it came for tamil alone. It broke the records only when they dubbed it in various languages.

IR's Biggest selling album is "Kaliyoonjal"(mal)...bigger and heavier than other ordinary cassettes with metal cravings at the four corners.
IR's latest highest selling album shud be Pithamagan sold at Radha audio shop in Dottabetta.

I would bet more on kaadhalukku mariyaadhai. Just because of the fact that the number of people who could afford buy tapes or CDs saw a dramatic jump in the mid 90s, after the liberalisation of Indian economy.

i havent seen the movie "lesa lesa", but from the lines you have written, " anthimazhay pozhikiruthe" is from film "Rajaparvai" -- Music director "Ilayaraja".
