Our favorite songs..and their "sontha/soga kadhai connection" !!!

This is a peculiar thread. Lets list out our favorite hit songs and the kind of impact it had on us when we first heard them.
Frequent responses would be pressing the rewind switch n no of times, 'suttufying' forever the cassette from the unfortunate friend, stealthily recollecting the tune the next day while at a work meeting or a college lecture, 'google' for the song the next day, etc

Please share your experiences with others, some songs might have evoked similar responses in us.

  four songs come to my mind which i have recorded twice in their respective cassettes because i was fed up of pressing the rewind button everytime the song ends.
  
  1. unnidathil ennai koduthen (SJ)
  2. andhi mazhai pozhikirathu (SPB-SJ)
  3. kaNgallukuL ennai ezhuthu (SJ)
  4. ehilum ingu iruppaan (MB)
  
  
  of these 1 and 3 came into the cassette with a lovely continuity. in 1, when SJ finishes the song at 'unidathil ennai koduthen' i paused and started the second time recording with the second line of the song 'unnai uLLemengum aLLi thezhithen'.
  in 2, the same way, the second time recording starts with the second line of the song 'nenjam engum unthan ninaivu'. it gives a feel that the song is with 4 saranams and i enjoy these long songs whenever i hear.

  Bangalore'la irundha samayathula oru naal thideernu sun tv'la vijayakanth hits'la "sangathil paadatha kavidhai..angathil yaar thandhathu" paatu vandhichu..athukku munnadi antha paata keetathey illa..but know that its a nice song from newtfmpage discussions..kekka arambicha appuram thaan therinjithu i have heard the mallu version already..but thats a loooong back..next day odaney office'kku poi net'la search panninen..but cud not get the tamil version..:(..aana mallu version "thumbi vaa" kedachithu..continous'a oru 10 days "sangathil" paata munumunuthu kittey irundhen..very contagious..:-)

  A lovely song from Pukar HF Kitne dinonke hum tho miley ho whenver I listen to that song I get carried away to a different world.listen to chorus awesome
  But our old song Kangal engay nenjamum ingey

  'Om Namaha urugum uyirukku' had been a favorite, but i got to hear the golt version of the song quite recently and it s become an obsession now. Esp the last line in the second charanam something like "jagathile atidhulai janana mandhina prema gantaki om" (i.e. "ilamayin ilakkanam eduthu cholliya ilaya kanniku om" in tamil) sounds jus mesmerizing in SPB s voice. The way he sings 'prema ganthaki/janthaki' is out of the world. Gives a 100 different feelings when I hear it. Too bad SPB did;nt sing the Tamizh version too.

  I was crazy about the Idhaythai thirudathey songs until i listened to geethanjali..SPB at his best in "O pappa lali" and "Ohm namaha"..
  
  and abt the heroine of auto raja..sorry..no idea who it is..
  may be the film producer's "onnu vidatha akka payyan(ponnu??)"..:-))

  Lots of them,
  I had already told in another thread about how I rewinded and played 'Oru kanam oru ugamaaga ' from Naadodi Thenral, starting from 11 AM until 3PM. I was 17 years then.
  
  Next is the 'Ayiram Thaamarai Mottukale', 'Kaadhal Oviyam Paadum Kaaviyam', 'Vizhilyil Vizhundhu' from Alaigal Oivadhillai. I Always had these songs in my collection of cassets and MP3. I had many times felt a unrecoverable urge to hear these songs, never mind food and sleep.
  
  'Metti Oli Kaatrodu' another great melody has mixed with the sounds of my heart beat.
  
  'Adi Aaathadi ila manasonnu' is my all time favourite for the emotions it creates in my mind. Example for a perfect blend of instruments and melody.
  
  There are a lot more to list, but surely 'Edhilum Ingu Iruppaan avan yaaro', 'Ninni Charanadaindhen ' from Bharathi.
  
  'Puttham puthu Boomi Vendum ' from Thiruda Thiruda.
  
  Also 'Vellai Thaamarai Poovil Iruppaal, Veenai Seiyum Oliyil Iruppaal' by UK in a non filmy album.
