ARR melodies have been very few compared to his fast beat, rythamatic songs, some excellent melodies of ARR
1) Kannalane - Bombay
2) Swasame Swasame - Thenali
3) Nee than en thesiya geetham - Parthale paravasam
4) Endhan vanin kadhal nilave - Kadhal virus
5) Uzhundhu vithaikayile - Mudhalvan
6) Pennale pennale - Uzhavan
7) En veetu thotathil - Gentle man
these were some excellent melodies, but still he is no way near IR / MSV when it comes to melodies, any body agree?
No IR/ARR bashing pls, that was not the intentions :)

Hi. My knowledge of ARR is very limited when compared to my knowledge of IR. That is because I listen to IR's works far more often than ARR's. In any event, of ARR's works, I like:
Taj Mahal
1. Thiripaatchi Arivaala
2. Eechi Elumichi
3. Kuliruthu Kuliruthu
4. Chotta Chotta
5. Adi Manjakkilange
6. Kizhakke Nandhavanam
Kaathalar Dhinam
7. Enna Vizhai Azhage
8. Roja Roja
9. Nenachapadi Nenachapadi
10. Kaathalennum Therveluthi
Vandhicholai Chinnarasu
11. Parotta Parotta
12. Sentamizh Naattu
Duet
13. Anjali Anjali Pushpanjali
Most songs of Roja, Thaalam, Sangamam, En Swaasa Kaatre, Uyire, etc.
Paarthaale Paravasam-- Azhage Sugammaa, and to an extent, Nee Thaan En Desiya Geetham

1)

these were some boring threads, but still he is no way near ambleen/ shanmugham when it comes to crudeness, any body agree?

Is Anbey Sivam Aalavandhan??
Yenge Enathu Kavithai and Yennavale have been missed out by CP. A glance at that list shows majority of those come in the 92-95 period.
Yes, ARR is nowhere near IR/MSV when it comes to melodies. Orchestration wise, he's up there with the best, no doubt about it.
BTW, the latest issue of Outlook refers to Kadhal Virus as a dud album

Are yaar;
No I do not want a fight, I am an ARR fan too, but all his melodies seems to have some techo beats, where else , MSV manily used viloins, while IR was very famous for the use of thabla.
If you listen to IR's early melodies and ARR's melodies, IR melodies stands out with time, ARR melodies will be around fdor couple of months, then vanished, but IR/MSV is still very enjoyable.
I know u r hard core ARR fan, pls, understand this is not intended to bash ARR or IR.
No offence dude :-)

Thanks 4 the support

Yoou are in SL, I beleive. tell me what you listen in Shakto FM, Suriayan FM and all . Don't tell me that they play only IR songs. I have found very less of IR songs in these FM channels. Also when there is a public demand program, even songs like "Samba Samba" from Love Birds of ARR is asked for. I stick on to these channels most of the times as it gives me so much of relief and chance to here ARR's songs which I might not be able to hear here otherwise.
Anyway, to put things in right picture, all new songs are in demand and VS songs do more rounds now a days...
But the big surprise for me is the demand for Baba songs....
First people should realise that newtfmpage is not the whole Tamil Music listening world. There is a huge world outside that.

Baba was definitely an under-rated album. I thought it was much better than most of ARR's albums in 2K1 and 2K2. That the film bombed took away most of the sheen.

Atleast songs like Dipu Dipu made Rajini a 'Pop' Saamiyaar instead of the usual Poochaandy Saamiyaar :-)

Prabhu,
Nowadays songs and movie's have become completely independent stuffs.Audio gets released much before the movie and the sales of the audio is not affected by the quality of the movie. So even if BABA wud hav been a good movie the audio wud have never made success.Good films doesnt make mediocre songs look good. But on the other hand many mediocre movies have saved their producers both audio wise and theatre collection wise.EX:Chinnathambi, karakatakaran,Kadhalan
