An interesting website describing the salaries of various MDs.

I donno how true this is. I remember reading somewhere that IR's friends audio rights was sold
for 60-70 lakhs. Anyhow, this is quite interesting.

  Interesting info. Thanks, Fliflo. I am surprised that it doesn't mention big business for Vidyasagar. I thought his albums do sell a lot more than most MDs.

  Well, while reading kumudam I read that ARR's audio market has dropped from 1 and half crores to just 30 lakhs. Vidyasagar and YSR audio value is just 10 lakhs..

  It is really sad to read the kumudam article. Haven't our movie industry people heard something called a 'system' ? The whole business is totally outdated in its management/business model. Greed drives the producers and heroes and probably everybody in the industry. This needs to be replaced just with a 'desire' for making money by providing the audience proper fare though joint/collaborative efforts.
  To be specific, movies, should not be sold to theares. They should be done on a profit sharing basis. Artistes salaries should be pegged with the performance of their previous work. A proper infrastructure to select stories, actors should be put in place. Please read the article by a indian cinematographer, who worked in Hollywood, who wrote about this is kumudam itself, I think.
  
  The whole movie industry is totally amatuerish. A strong dose/injection of professionalism in the way the production/management of the film-making is badly needed. Without a proper system in place, superstitions, heroes-of-the-day, shameless following of 'trends' in stories/music etc will be the order of the day and is, IMO.

  The report says that the entire cinema industry is reporting losses and even the audio market is losing grounds. As an example they have given ARR's figures which has ALSO dropped. Not that ARR has dropped while IR has gone up.
  
  The article further says that VS and YSR who are in demand these days are fetching only 10 lakhs.
  
  Conclusion: Even in bad times, ARR is still the leader AND IR is nowhere in the scene!

  I think some people dont take money and rather negotiate on music rights or distribution for some areas. I think IR did the same for Ulle Veliye movie..

  ARR took 1.5 crores for Taal which is history in HFM......that's more than akshay kumar's,Salman khans salaries......i think ARR now demands not more than 50-65 lacs in hindi as music industry is almost dead here.......
