Nope. It is not true.
IR bashings are in answer to the Cheenus and ambleens postings elsewhere. Frankly speaking, we are not the least bothered of IR or his music. NOM, but his music is as antiquated as the Stone Age Man is to us and we'd rather not indulge in it. BUT, these guys don't seem to leave us alone... and when you press the bottom of colgate tube, you get toothpaste at the top....

It is not necessary but ARR fans do that to show off their loyalty! Go to ARR group and see for yourself! The group has degraded in an appaling way and now they have all "ching cha ching cha" who think kadhal virus is best in TFM for a long time.
Like I said before, a x286 computer will always hate a pentium4 3.8 Ghz

Not Necessary. Actually IR is a genious in Giving Different and catchy tunes with a great coincidence for the Situation. ARR makes the tunes sensual to ears. Both are good! There is no problem in admiring both their talents. Both are equally important for TFM (Not only TFM, but for the world itself). Symphony! Bombay Dreams! in Future may be N number of Symphonies and Bombay Dreams. Lets appreciate and admire the talents wherever it is found.
Hope everyone will agree with me.

sridhar and ashok I have said this to scores of ARR and IR fans
They just dont want to listen.
My god just imagine what TFM is w/out them IR an unparalelled genius and ARR a music-whiz in the new age! Together we should be proud of having the 2 prolific composers in the world. Ofcourse they are the best any time in India.
I wont waste time trying to rate a Hindi MD. You guys know what they are good for... :) :):):):):)

vaseegara,
I didn't want to comment but bcos you say IR is a stone-age man, sorry, couldn't keep quite...
Firstly, You do not represent the whole ARRfans group, so replace 'we' with 'I' in your response.
Bcos I do know some ARR fans who like IR.
Secondly, if you are least bothered about IR and his music then why do you poke your nose into every IR thread and comment? Bcos you just can't stand when people praise IR or say anything good about him. Go back and check all the threads where you made your comments and you will realize who started what.
The truth is that all IR fans seem to like many ARR songs. It's few people like you can't accept IR is a genius bcos your ears and eyes cant see it. In your view, indian music is stone-age music and the latest music is western music? Have you ever listened to IR songs where he blended both forms of music brilliantly just like that?
Finally, IR fans (at least I) very well know that IR is not in a great form lately but he had his golden period. 15 years of pure memorable music. Just because he is not doing well now, it doesn't mean that you must disrespect and throw away his achievements as if it never hapenned.

X.. i will agree with u with all that u said. But i won't accpet that IlayaRaja is not in form.He is doing good always. No of movies being produced in a year have increased in the last 10 years. So lot of new faces came into the music direction. So Raja's work in no. of movies to come down. Moreover nowadays there r no directors who r ready to experiment their movies with different dimensions of music.Whenever he gets a chance to prove himself he excelled.
I'm proud to quote very few among lot of em:
Chiraichalai HeyRam Barathi (Historical Movie's)
KathalukkuMaruyadhai Sethu KathalKavithai(Romance)
Ramana(Action)
Azhagi (Family Drama)
DesiaGeetham (Politics)
Devathai
Avatharam(Rural)
Housefull (Movie with no songs)
Julie Ganapathi(Thriller)
This list will keep growing long if i continue.

Of course, IR is still doing good.. but what I meant was that he is not at his greatest form as he used to be few years ago.. that's all...

Vaseegara,
It is riduculous to say IR's music is of stone age. IR uses conventional instruments mostly and this does not mean his music is of stone age. By your comment all symphony composers around the globe are of stone age as they use conventional equipments.
IR's music is classical both western and local and some times folkish. ARR's music is popish, which is also good. He relies on synth. to get various new sounds which is welcome.
But in all traditions classical has more longeveity than any other forms of music, where as pop music is really catchy. That's why devotional songs are made in classical base rather than others.
Both IR and ARR have to be appreciated for their contribution and having their style of presentation.

Not just between IR and ARR, the fight has now spread to Yuvan Shankar Raj, Harris Jeyaraj and Vidhya Sagar.
I think Tamil Film music has come a long way - with lots of gems shining brilliantly, each in their own way. And it is heart-filling to see lots of sane people who actually appreciate all varieties of music.
Personally, I like to listen to "Idhayathai Thirudaadhey", "Minnaley", "Run", "Kaadhal Kondaen" or "May Madham" - depending on my mood. I never discriminate between music directors... Some times some music appeals better than other types.
Is there anyone who disagrees that Tamil film music has never had so much rich variety before?
(P.S. If I have missed any MD's name here, it is absolutely unintentional - so, please don't make this a flaming thread)

Good to see the HCIRFs sweating.
Wonder where were all these gnyaaya-pechu's when artistes other than IR were being bashed!
But the best joke is "x" who happens to be one of the biggest culprits of one-line-ARR-bashing trying to behave like an angel.
Oorukku upadesam nalla irukku. :)

dinesh,
ok whatever happend is happend.there are some cats are there in both group.we should not fight for the matter[who started it?]
for the persons like ambleen,LP: some people who felt like me, may also bashed sometime for fun.but after this thread we should wake up.you may remember, during the BBC poll we bashed like this and some other songs from pakistan and srilanka tried to overtake.if we stand then as a single row we might achieved the first place.
anyway happend is happend.here after we stand as one. some culprits may try to depart us again.beware of them.

You are not me ..right?
These were the exact opinion that I said and am saying for almost two years. Infact the BBC poll exposed us as to how we would loose being divided. I went even to the extend of asking ARR fans and IR fans to atleast join hands and vote of RKT or VM forgetting all the difference. I wanted one Indian song to be at the top...
But who listened?

Sridhar,
My sincere support & wishes to your laudable purpose. Thnaks a ton.
Most regular posters (be it ARR fans or IR fans) have now learnt to ignore irrelevant posts. That is a good sign in itself.
This is the right direction. I would like IR/ARR fans (the ones who wish to have healthy discussions, unlike people who just love spreading disharmony & bad-taste) to just maintain this new found attitude.
A day will soon come (if we keep up this trend) when irksome & irritating posters will not evoke even one response from the healthy lot. :-)
Ignore the PODs (Posts of Disharmony), and the PODs will vanish. [TFM Admin has agreed to pay royalty to me if they were to use the term PODs in future for their reference...Am i right bb ;-)]
