Kavignar Vairamuthu honoured in USA
Film lyricist and novel writer Kavignar Vairamuthu was honoured in the United States of America for his novel, ‘Kallikattu Idhihasam’, which is an outstanding contribution to Tamil Literature. The function which was organized by the Tamil Trust was held in Chicago and was attended by thousands of Tamils living all over USA. Former Vice Chancellor of the Anna University Ananthakrishnan who presided over the function said the novel which received the Sahitya Academy Award in India deserves the world renowned Nobel Prize.
Vairamuthu who spoke on the occasion appealed to all to love their own mother-tongue. He requested the Tamils to always speak in their native language with their children and family. The lyricist praised the Tamils for honoring his novel.
