  It is a pity that LR Easwari has been branded as a singer for 'vamp' songs. Have you listened to 'vArAyO thOzhi vArAyO' or 'ammammA kELadI thOzhi' ? 'malarukku thendral' and 'unathu malar kodiyilE' also spring to mind. Please give 'nAm oruvarai oruvar' with TMS a hear and decide for yourselves. 'varavENdum oru pozhuthu' and 'ammammA kannaththil kannam' are examples of the so called 'vampish' numbers delivered masterfully without the slighest trace of cheapness. LRE is truly peerless.

  True..LRE has also sung a variety blended songs..But, as Pranav stated, mostly she is remembered as a singer who sings Vamp songs, Amman Songs (BTW..Both r controversial)..This may be because she here voice sounded so and she sings better in that manner!
  
  But when you think of SWL and ARS, you dont feel the same way...They have sung varieties...Infact, ARS is very good in modulating her voice much better....

  My fav LRE song is 'Ellorum paarka en ulaasa vazhkai' from film 'Avalukku oru manam'. I think LRE has done full justice to this song. She had a distinct style of her own

  Thank for the topic, LRE, is a great singer man..!!! she has a different voice compare to other singers and swarnalata have different voice compare to other singers. Anuradha very good in changing her voice, but certain songs not suite for her and certain songs really wonderfull.... . Listen to LRE voice when she sings its like windy sounds, even minmini got such a voice.. something very rare... I don't have any coment, couse 3 of them are good singer and I enjoy listent to their songs... you cannot eat rice with sambar only... matcha... you need some kadichikai too... ok..

  L R E has sung some fantastic songs, including duets with PBS in chitthi.MSV has given many hits in her voice.it is unfortunate that people associate her more with vampish songs or amman songs than with her best

  (and of course, all her devotional songs. Anybody else have memories of waking up way early in the morning during exam time and listening to all her amman songs on loudspeakers outside? This is such an indelible part of my childhood that whenever I hear these songs, even to this day, years afer I took my last exam, I feel a vague (exam) tension!)
