  well,
  
  if u think from the perspective called music for "super star rajini" then i feel ARR has a disadvantage. annamalai, baasha tailored the music requirement for a rajini movie. in that aspect Deva-rajini is successful combo.
  
  but ARR too has given some songs that still go with this "super star rajini" movies.
  
  so my order is deva first; arr next.

  ARR is the best for Super * movies.He is the guy who has the calibre to lift the star's image.No doubt that Deva is great in giving boost to the star's movies.But they were not at all in the international standards.After Thalapathi Rajini movies are watched by the international audience.As u guys know ARR won't go with the image of the stars he always think about his part in the movie.But whenever he works for Super * the story will be entirely different.Being a great fan of super * u could see his enthusiasm in the music.Oruvan Oruvan Muthalali.. is an excellent piece.Kuluvaalilae.. how romantic...Em peru Padayappa.. what a start for the movie.. BGM of padayappa..awsome experience for the fans to watch..I'm pretty much sure that Super *'s next movie is going to be orchetrated by ARR.No doubt about that.

  Rajini is going with ARR for market reasons.
  
  Deva is undoubtedly the best MD for Rajini. Rajini is a mass Hero, he needs music that the mass can relate with.
  
  Another thing is, ARR is not taking Rajni movies seriouly. He thinks whatever he composes for Rajni will become a hit, 'cos it is a Rajni movie. This complacency is showing in the quality of music delivered.
  
  Deva on the other hand, stops work on all other projects, when he gets a Rajni movie and churns out a 100 tunes for the Director to select from.

  Come on guys give it a break... ARRahman is for god shakes International Artist, while poor Rajini is just a local artist(?). So dont expect ARR to give a shhit about what Rajini wants..

  We dont care if ARR is a international artist or intergalaxial artist ... If he cannot give what Rajni fans want, he is out !!!
  
  Imagine if Baba was a surya or ajit movie, Even Rahman would not have bought the audio cassette.
  
  I'm not saying none of ARR's Rajni songs are good. He has given some wonderful ones. But overall, if you compare other ARR movies and ARR rajni movies, they sound inferior.

  He is out of what?? TFM industry? or Rajini's forthcoming movies?? ya whatever! Rajini and his movies does nothing with ARR and his market. FIrst of all go and tell your Rajini to get a better story than 'how to fly a kite' or manthra magic. Its a waste of time for ARR to do music for some stupid movie of Rajini.

  true.....but u mean to say that ARR wud agree to do a movie and wud end up composing bad songs deliberately? .... he wud surely try to give his best .... the thing is that he does better when he is influenced more by the dir/watever musically .... which rajni is capable of doing only for deva! ;)

  Frankly Deva and RK are made for each other.
  
  ARR is usually compelled to do the music for RK films, and he does not compromise on his style. Technologically ARR's songs are far superior to Deva's but in terms of what RK needs, only Deva can fit the bill exactly.
  
  Deva is the best bet for not only Rajini but also for Kamal.
  
  I would be happy if ARR concentrates on people like Maniratnam, Shankar and even KB (Paarthaale Paravasam kettaale paravasam!)
