Whatever happened to Jayachandran? His songs in Moonru Mudichu like "Aadi velli thaedi unnai naan adaintha naeram" and "vasantha kaala nadhiyinilae" are excellent.

  I am content to see all these responses. As we have seen people used to confuse between KJY and JC.
  There is something which KJY does not do and JC does. That is the proper pronounciation.

  I am really thrilled to see the postings about
  Jayachandran. His voice is one of the best male voices in India. Sixtees and seventees witnessed
  great songs of Jayachandran.His contributions to both Tamil & Malayalam music scene are of a highly placed profile. The songs like "Neelagiriyude Saghikale", "Karimukil Kattile","Swathythiunalin kamini" etc sung by him in Malayalam will never be forgotten by any keralites.
  Jayachandran belonged to the same town where I grew up and I also studied in the same college where he studied However, I was junior to him in the college. Alhough I never had a chance to meet him for so many years ,some additional information which I would like to place from my memory is that ,in addition to his great talents on music, he was also excellent on Mridangam, Bul Bul( a musical instrument) and a temple vadyam called "Thayambaka."He is a person with multiple talents.
  I find the new and welcome trend that Jayachandran is back in Malayalam film scene after a period of some silence and this is a matter of extreme pleasure for anybody who likes good singing. Let the great artist continue to provide us great songs in both Tamil & Malayalam through his melodious and wonderful voice. Best wishes to him.

It is really sad that IR and ARR do not give chances for him. Let us hope they utilize this amazing talent again. Have u people heard of "Chithirai Nilavu" of ARR in Vandicholai Cinnarasu?

  Dear JC fans,
  I remember watching a light music show recording (the show was in Dubai years ago) in which Gangai Amaran asked SPB who he considered as the best voice in TFM. And SPB said that though he was in awe of KJY's voice, if there was one talent he envied, it was Jayachandran. They then went on to invite JC to the stage to perform.

  1.Ponnenna poovenna kanne /MSV/Alaigal/Dir.Sridhar
  
  2.Mandaramalare with LREswari/MSV/Naan Avanillai/Dir.Balachandar
  
  the song "Osai endri " in Paritchaikku Neramachu/MSV is a great song but went unnoticed because MSV was in his ernagumugam at that time.
  
  Rehman has used JC in May matham."En meel vizutha ".But listeneing to JC in recent songs and live concerts is a pain.His sruthi has left him long back.He is now a pale shadow from Moondru mudichu days.
  
  His attempts at fast paced songs was a disaster.Listen to " Raathiri pozuthu" in Oru oodai nathiyagirathu.

  JC ,despite his talents was considered a KJY clone.So was Jolly Abraham!(listen to Adeyenai paramma /MSV/Vankathukuriya Kathaliye).JC also has good number with Vani " swing Swing" in the same movie.
  Singers like JC and JA spotted by MSV ( for tamil movies) went down with him.

  Jayachandran is given the 1st KJYesudas award (newly instituted by certain authority in Kerala) which is criticised by PS -Leela chEchikku thAn idhu koduthirukkaNum...(She refers to P Leela here and has also informed that he likes JC very much, like younger brother, and may be given 2nd or 3rd time and not this one)...source `The Hindu' (hard copy)
