Who are the TFM MDs who have won National Awards other than IR/ARR ?

  I think Kanthan karunai got an award.I am not sure whether it was for best music or best Tamil film.Does anyone know the facts?

  'Kanthan Karunai' came out in 1967
  
  Also 'Neethipathigal sirantha isai amaippaalar virudhu' was awarded to Mahesh for 'Nammavar' 1994.

  Is it MDs other than IR/ARR who got national awards for a Tamil Film or MDs who got national awards and also scored music for Tamil films?
  
  If it is latter category then Ramesh Naidu qualifies. He got his National award for Mega Snadesam - telugu (excellent songs by KJ) and he has scored music for a couple of Tamil films. One song I can remember is
  
  Adi 18 avani poonchitu ellorum kondadunga - Neechchal kulam (late 70's?)
  
  Ravindran also qualifies;
  
  Bharatham (mal) - and scored music for Rasigan oru rasigai.
  
  Salil choudary also might qualify.

  Ravy - I don't think that we should include award-winning MD's who ALSO scored for Tamil movies in this listing. IMO, the list should contain MD's who got an award for scoring in Tamil movies. Am I right pg?

  MSV did not get national award for Aboorva ragangal. Vani Jayaram got for 'keilviyin nayagane' and Lognath got for Best Photography.
