  "Kakaiku than kunju pon kunju" --
  IR told this - about when questioned about which is the best score you have ever composed.
  He also added Liek a monther I give the same attention to all the songs - whether it is Katavandi Katavandi or Panivizum Malarvanam,

  When I listen to IR music especially scintillating interludes in all songs, I am not able to concentrate on any thing except enjoying brilliance of IR's composition. One cannot compare anybody with his creativity in music, every time new. I have most of the hit songs of IR right from Annakilli to Kangalin Varathaigal in about 100 cassettes. These are pokkishams of my life time. If somebody wants to listen get back to me. Listen to the latest

  Another two I just remembered - It is a song in Ilamai Thoolum or somethin in Paadum Paravaigal by SJ a kind of birds and pond and so on. You stay transfixed on this song

  Hubert: Panjami is indeed of IR with two other great compositions. Maalai Veyil Paadum Sindhu Sindhu - MV and Panikkaatril... by SJ.
  
  Manthiravaathi: the list of spectacular compositions of IR will number about 300 to 400 - a rough estimate. Spectacular I mean the 'structure' is unique and is an entirely spontaneous flow. There is a continuous flow in the tune. eg: Ival Oru in Brahma or Ilamai Yennu Poongatru or Kodai Kaalai Kaatre or Yen Kanmani or Kanmaniye Kaadhal Enbadhu. Most compositions have a structure which you keep listening you will identify. IR' has perhaps the largest number of unique compositions for any composer. (This is perhaps one reason for IR's open admiration for Mozart, MSV and RDB more than any other.)
  
  For example, Enkaha Kathiru has 4 amazing numbers, but they are based on a certain format in the pallavi, so I did not include them in the very short list. IR uses various structures repeatedly but they differ I think because of the different raagams. This is a science by itself!
  
  I would list all of the 4 Enakaha Kkathiru under the 'Mood' category, in which IR has more than a thousand amazing mood songs and they are unique too because of the wide range of moods his songs seem to convey - example: Thaalatuthey Vaanam,Aanandha Raagam Ketkum Kaalam, Indha Minminikku Kannil Oru and so on.
  
  Then, there is the prelude / interlude category and these overlap with the mood songs eg: Sandane Kaatre Santhosha Paate; Endredum Aanandame
  
  Ravi's song Mayile Mayile falls in the first short list.
  
  This is just a hurried touch at the tip of the iceberg!!!
