Music in other language movies, dubbed in tamil!

Asoka's tamil version prompted this thread! Is there any non-tamil movie, dubbed in tamil, who's music was very successful?

Ithayathai Thirudathey is one very good example and the credit entirely goes to IR. But one thing that still beats me is why he chose Mano instead of SPB for tamil, while Geethanjali had SPB in superb form!

Probably Udhayam is another example, but were the songs such a hit as much as the movie? Dont think so.

Any other examples?

  Good example. But was it a success in tamil as much as it was in hindi? Or was it just hype 'cos of Maniratnam, ARR, SRK et all? Did the music really succeed in tamil?

  There are some in very early stages of TFM , veterens may remember. I don't know if there are any during the vintage years of MSV-TKR/MSV?!

  wow, great examples! Of course, Salangai Oli and Sippikkul Muthu were very successful....I think we could also add Shankarabharanam in this list!

  Uyire was a big hit here. That "poongaatrile" number has become life time favourite for many of my friends.

  Paadum paRavaikaL has atleast three wonderful IR numbers - KeeravaaNi, Eeekaantha veLai and one more (pagaloo,iravoo ... or something similar to that), Its a Karthik, BhanuPriya *er, Dubbed from Telugu !

  Come on. Don't say that you have forgotten "thayya thayya", "kaneere", "Ennuyire" and all not hit.
  Had you been in chennai in that time?

  Dil Se is a big hit ... I fully agree., Not Uyirae., Even the cassette Sales was low when compared to other ARR hits ...
  
  Thayya Thayya was moderately hit .. Not KaNNeeree and Ennuyiree, (Ofcourse, All IMO :-), I was in Hyderabad at that time (and Saw Dil Se being played in almost every music shop continuously :-))
