JENCY- is she going to come back

out of thin air Vijay tv had brought in the great jency. the luckiest female singer to have enjoyed the best of IR's tunes, especially melodies.deiveega raagam, kaadhal ooviyam, adi penne, meen kodi thearil and so on. too thrilled to watch her again with the same voice. If you have missed the first telecast I beleive there is a repeat on the saturday 19.10.2001 at 4 pm.if you are a real music lover dont miss it.

  Jency was the judge in Saptha Swarangkal some time back. Nowadays she is singing in churches in kerala, I heard. Still her voice is good (ofcourse she is not old). Her pronounciation improved now. She really didn't sing much songs under IR. Numbers are less than 75. SJanaki had the lion's share with IR.

  I agree, But she sure shares the honor of getting lot of 'enviable' melody numbers of IR,
  
  Looking at her 'not so perfect' tamil pronounciation and the number of good songs she got to sing, I feel she was very lucky :-) Taking this into account, Shall we call her Yesterdays' Sadhana Sargam ? ;-)
  
  (Reason for the previous statement - if you are interested - Listening to 'Kutti Kutti PaniththuLi' from Manadhaith thirudivittaay, Wonderful tune and decent lyrics, Spoilt totally by Sadhana the singer :-( :)

  Jency was one million times better than Sadhana Sargam. Almost all of her songs were hits. Her voice was much clearer and majestic. Her words were audible. She may pronouce some words with an accent but one knew very well what the words were. I think it is unfair to equate Jency with Sadhana.

  I didn't say she spoiled IR's songs ... I feel Her pronounciation was not 'perfect' when compared to SJ, PS, KSC, Uma RamaNan etc., Thats what I expressed in my previous statement,

  yes agree with that...., even her pronouns not 100% but ask your heart when you listen to her songs..., if you don't want follow the songs but your foots will type but itself.. First she is not Tamilan, she from Kerala, but at least she trying her best to sing accurately..

  In jaya TV, a program called ragamalaka. vijay adhiraj is the coordinator. subasree thanikachalam is the prog director.
  In yesterday episode, Jency was judge. Fantastic quater finals. She started with opening song deiveega ragam from ullasa paravaigal. In 2nd round, the male participant to sing with judge as duet. Female particiapnats will sing and Jency will contine with them.
  
  Jency sang Geetha sangeetha & Meen kodi theril manmada rajan as duets. Really class. With female particpants, she sang iru paravaigal malai muzhuvadum & adi penne pon oonjal adum ilamai. really she sang very well.
  
  At end she sang en uyir nee thane. gems of songs. Why and how she vanished from TFM? She said she will come back; it will be good.

  Jency's voice is unique. Her pronounciation was much better when comparing to singers of these days. 'Kadhal Oviyum' , 'Deiviga Raagam', 'Ilam pani thulir vidum neram' are really great nos. I wish she should stage a come back, but should be very very choosy. I don know how she will fit in to (rather irritating) 'Manmatha rasa, Oh Podu, Kalyananthan kattikkuttu' Trends of music.

  Undoubtedly jency enjoyed the privilage of singing some beautiful compositions under IR .But I really wonder how IR could have Okayed her songs after the recording since i find her shruti dips in most of the songs, eg : Aayiram malarge, Adipenne etc The other contributors for this happen are obviously the Chorus section.   I am ardent fan of all her songs. The prog director is my friend and she told me that Jency was only 15yrs old when she sang all these songs. I was thrilled. Now it seems, Jency wants to sing again in films.
