Shah Jahan Movie review!!!

  Perhaps a film with a sure shot superstar and a market savvy producer cannot fall flatter than Shahjahan does. Vijay the hero of the film, who claims that he will do only films that boost his superstar image, obviously has not read the script. Vijay’s brand of heroism is all about singing songs, doing unbelievable fights and brazenly plugging for Coke, but in the climax he does not get the girl for whom he did all this!
  
  The writer director Ravi’s screenplay is a mess, caring a whit for sense, logic and even continuity. Asok (Vijay) is happy go-lucky student, who specialises in getting lovers married against all odds. So people go to him if they have any problem in getting married. Asok uses muscle, money and police power to beat the odds.
  
  But playing cupid has it’s own pitfalls. Finally Asok falls in love with a girl whose name he does not know (Richa Pallod). It is love at first sight, but Asok is unable to convey his feelings to her because of a bad experience. In a flashback Asok tells how he messed up the life of his friend Giri (Cheenu of Chitti fame), by being too pushy. So this time around he would rather admire but not express his feelings.
  
  Later he helps another friend Raja to win over his ladylove. But only at the last moment does he realise that he was instrumental in making Mahi the girl he loves, fall in love with Raja. This is infuriatingly contrived and corny. Throughout, the audience cannot empathise with the hero and in the climax it degenerates into a big melodrama.
  
  If Vijay’s rise to superstar was through Kathalikku Mariyathai where the message was that one should respect parental feelings regarding love, in Shahjahan it is just the opposite. The love story between the lead pair has not been worked out in spite of the listless song and dance sequences. There are no emotional confrontation or tender moments that make love stories work on the screen.
  
  It is technically tacky film. Vijay is losing his natural charm. But what ever made him go over the top particularly in the tedious climax scenes? Vivek does one of the most vulgar comedy tracks with Kovai Sarala. Richa Pallod tries to ape Jyothika. The director Ravi should go back to the basics, before he becomes a full-fledged director.

  Was Ajit's Citizen a flop too? I wonder why these guys are so arrogant when their movies don't even do that well. I've heard stories of them walking out on their directors, insisting on singing in their movies, storming out of movie premiers, etc. And people make it worse by comparing them wit kamal and rajini.

  Wait a sec u all,
  For yr information,SIFY.COM is the worst site for rewiewing movies...!!Sify.com has alwayz given vijay movies a very bad review...if i'm not mistaken they gave freinds,priyamanvale,bdari n especially kushi all bad reviews....n see what happened???????????/At last,these movies turned out to be BIGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG HITS!!!
  Lets all watch the movie first without judjing it by reading stupid rewiews ok...then we judge!!

  According to Sify, MTV is watchable. Almost all the revies say that. Still waiting for more reviews on Nandha. So, it means that only MTV and Nandha are the diwali hits???!!! WOW!!!

  MTV as many said is a good movie but some won't really like it though...but SHAH JAHAN i think has the best story n screenplay...n the music is a big help too...people r saying so many bad things bout it just cause of its climax which some might not accept it the way it was given!!Grow up guys!!Alavanthan orr aluvukku nalla padam......nandha not realeased yet here in malsyai,so got to wait for it...so far the best i saw n i like is definetely SHAH JAHAN!

  its not a thumbs down review,but its an ok revwiew.....read it properly ok????????Besides ARAMTHINAI N DINMANI both gave it good reviews except dinmani mentioned that the ending was not good...many may think so!!

  For all the stupid donkey n anti-love movies, read this GREAT review on SHAH JAHAN AT dinamalar.com....This site has come out n praised vijay a lot for his acting skills in many scenes in SHAH JAHAN..besidees that the site has also praised the fighting scenes,n the brilliant songs....overall its a good review from a true VIEWWER who isn't anti-love stories like some brainless ones here!!
