SPB + MSV combination Vs SPB + KVM combination, which is better?

Hi

SPB + MSV had more songs to date than SPB + KVM, but no one can ever forget SPB+KVM's "Shankaraparanam", "Adimai Penn", Can we please list all songs that SPB has sung under these two legendary MD's. Thanks

  Shankarabaranam and one adimaip penn song are really great. But I feel, MSV was the main reason behind the popularity of SPB. So many songs. Shankarabaranam came later. Even KVM was thinking to use KJY for those movie. It was Puhazendi who made SPB to sing those songs.

  I agree with u that SPB is the greatest singer - he outclasses Rafi in classical numbers. However all MDs have given SPB good songs and the justice he has done to those is commendable. There is no need to make such comparisons. Thanks.

  It's good to see you agree with me about SPB & Rafi, but when I state facts with proof, I am regarded as a SPB Fanatic, but I am NOT A SPB FANATIC.
  
  You are right about SPB's classical skills over Rafi, but you see this great SPB does not think him self as the greatest singer in India, not even 0.01% Ego, what a man!!!

  Have you heard a song called "Padhu padahu kadhal padahu", by SPB + PS, from "uthaman"(sivaji + Manjula)??? ,
  the rest of the songs, except "kezhai maghanee",by TMS, "padahu padahu" by SPB+PS, lacks the trade mark of the legendary composer, KVM, what are your views about the rest of the songs???

  Hi Raghu,
  Satyam has one good duet. "Kalyaanak Koyilin Deiveehak Kalasam" by SPB-PS. Actors - Sivaji, Devika, Kamalahasan, Manjchula, Jayachitra. Movie is ok.
  
  Yenippadihal has many good songs and most of the songs were heroine oriented. Sivakumar and Shoba acted in the movie. I remember two songs.
  1. Yenungka Mappile Enna Mayakam (SPB-PS)
  2. Kannizandtha Pillaiku Deivam Thandtha (PS)
  Movie is ok.
  
  In Uthaman, Padahu Padahu was hit song. Uthaman has many hit songs.
  1. Naalai Naalai Enrirundthean Nala Neram Paarthirundthean (TMS,PS)
  2. hari om rengka hari amma chonna chari chari (TMS,PS)
  3. Padahu Padahu Aasaip Padahu (SPB,PS)
  Movie is OK.

  Another 'ENippadigaL' song, 'poonthEnil kalanthu', 2 versions, one sung by SPB and the other by PS.
  
  KVM was the MD who showed greater confidence in the semi-classical abilities of SPB than anybody else. He made SPB sing a Thyagaraja Krithi in a devotioanal movie much before Shankarabaranm happened and SPB did a great job. Who can forget
  thirumagaL thEdi vanthAL ?
  
  But overall, MSV's melodies ruled right from light-hearted duets / solos to serious / passionate numbers and he showered SPB with all that and more. My vote goes to MSV-SPB combo.

  Yes Aarthi, how can we forget "Thirumahal Thedi Vandthaal"? But I like the PS version very much. That movie is one of my favorite movies. (Irulum Ollium). There is one more PS solo at the starting of the movie. any idea about that song?

  I think Rajesh and Sulakshana paired for the song "Thamize Thamize En Uyirth Thamize". I am not very sure about it. The movie is super flop.
  
  Raghu, u were asking about SPB for Sivaji. In Thirusoolam, SPB had sung three songs for Sivaji.
  1. Kaathal Raani Kattik Kidaka (Solo)
  2. Irandu Kaihal Naankaanal (with TMS)
  3. Raajathi Vaarungkadi puthiya Raajavaip Paarungkadi (Solo)

  oh BTW, have you guys heard the songs by SPB in "vannathamizh pattu", it is a Prabhu film, music was composed by MSV+IR, this was their second movie in which they have composed to gether after "mellathiranthathu kadhavu"!
  
  This film (vannathamiz pattu ) has some superb songs by SPB, such as;
  
  1) vanna vanna
  2) Chinna Chinna thooral ...
  3) Adi komaatha nee intha ...

  'nEram pournami nEram' is a classy duet predominantly in Amrutavarshini Raag and yes, by SPB and VJ. There is another famous SPB song for Sivaji, 'kAthal kathai solvEnO' with VJ.

  You are correct. "Ithaze Ithaze" song is by SPB. Movie name is "Ithayakkani". If u get a chance, don't watch the song. It is very good song and was spoiled by MGR's romantic?!? plays with Radha Salooja.

  'kAthal kathai solvEnO' is from 'unakkAga nAn' (think so). The movie had a TMS-KJY duet, 'Ramu, I love you', no they Sivaji and Gemini were not gays in the movie :)

  Unnakaha Naan has one classic patho. "Kadavul ulahathaip padaithaana?" After listening first time, still I don't dare to listen it again. That song brings out the emotions very easily. Since I listened long back, I don't remember the singers.

  Nizal Nijamahirathu MD is MSV. There are two fantastic songs by SPB. One is solo and another is duet with VJ.
