Good Luck for India to smash Aussies today!

Cant wait for the match to start, we all are infront of tv from now! I hope sachin makes 700 runs in this tourney and india wins. (well we were supporting srilanka, its gone now..so we hope atleast our neighbour gets it! Most of all kick Aussies ass! )

Admin why dont you leave this thread on just for 2 days lets get all the cricket commetns here.. and see each of our tfm fan's cricket passion.

  Just heard that the Aussies scored 359 and that tendulkar was out when our total score was less than 5. Just felt like crying :-(. Anyways we have scored a 147 for 4 down. Lets pray for our team!

  Yoo hoo! am the first to post while the MOM ceremony is in progress :) Pretenders got a mighty pasting today! Yup, I initially agreed with Saurav's decision to go for the jugular on a moist wicket. But its one thing to rattle the Englishmen and kiwis and another thing to do it to the aussies, since pace bowling is meat and drink for them.
  The lesson against Pak wasnt learnt - dont pump yourself out going by the previous result, each day is a new day.
  Basic thing is this: In Wisden's latest monthly, Greg Chappell and Lillee's psychologist says "True champs have the ability to focus on the 'now', irrespective of the past and future." Thats what happnd : Gilchrist and Hayden didnt get the heebie jeebies thinking of below par totals against NZ & Eng and now facing the 2nd best attack - they went out and played naturally.
  
  Indians didnt - they thought its Eng/NZ out there. Srinath liberally gifted full tosses for sixes in his 3xx th ODI.
  
  Ok, lets comfort ourselves - pajama cricket isnt the real thing, test cricket is. And we're nowhere in that.

  I am so sorry for Shewang... he played a genius innings unfortunate to be run out. I thought they gonna prove they could do it without Sachin. I was hoping Shewang+Dravid pair to do the play.
  
  Damn those full bowls and those huge extras.. Ganguly is a good and strong batsment but a bad bad captain for his fileding display.

  Sachin disappointed today :( ..... twud have been great if he cud have broghut home the cup ... just an example of how he suucumbs to pressure ... hes human afterall
  
  aus were too good.....they spaced their innings absolutely perfctly smashing all sots of record on the way.....
  aus 359 in final .... pontings 140 .... 234 run partnership ..... wat not?!
  
  it can be sed that india required 2 innings to achieve this target....234 + 125 ! :)) ... dats australia.....hats off
  
  ganguly is a coward.....a useless captain...
  there were only 3 indians today who din bowl....dravid(keeper),kaif(doesnt bowl) and ganguly (the man with a "thagara" arm)....he cudnt rise up to the occasion
  his bowling changes were horrible....never allowed ne bowler to settle(spells os 3 overs were no good).....also he shud have brought zaheer on as soon as 2 wkts were down....instead he gave em 15 overs to setlle and then brought zaheer who continued from where he had left! :) ... and him starin at hayden/gilchrist in the very first over is horrendous....mayb they were tryin out wat the aussies did....the thing is that it comes naturally to those guys while zaheer's stare was totally amateurish!!
  batting no good as usual.....3 centuries against non testplayn countries proves nuthin.....saw how he was down the wkt for the 2nd ball he faced?? ... just proves he lacks the intelligence .... the one thing he tried to prove was that he wasnt afraid of lee and mcgrath but those two were smart enuf to realise that hes just pretending! :)

  finally Professionalism won it..... well, iam disappointed, but still there is some portion in my heart that is happy (am sure to be bashed for this!!!!)..... did we deserve to be in FINALS at all ?????
  
  so what does this WORLD CUP meant to INDIA - the govt and the people - WE LOST A HUGE MONEY THAT WOULD HAVE COME AS TAX FROM THE MONEY THESE PLAYERS ARE GOING TO BRING HOME.... thanks to the Govt for making silly, idiotic decisions.... whatever.....

  i think the point only goes to the bowlers or the captain ...some one corrupted guys ..see the same stadium where we won aganist srilanaka .. we batted first and got a good target.. but for the final ganguly choose to ball ..its better to suicide tht time ...
  
  the key factors are extras .. the first 5 overs were expensive .and the followers couldn't control the run rate ... the only fear the aussied got is with harbajan
  
  why india lost ???
  
  * decision by the capt to bowl first bec he is superstious..they won there before with batting first ..with a excellent batting team
  
  *poor performance by the bowlers ..harabajan just stand out.
  
  *no control for saheer khan and srinath
  
  *extras .we gave them too many runs
  
  *the 360 target very very huge in a big game to chase ... do not get on sachin he has put his heart on this games ... the plan was to get over 100 in 10 overs ... sachin was trying to do tht and got it and others with aussies good bowling

  Indian pace 'attack' bowled Aus for 233 in Cal test 97-98 on a similar pitch(Gangs taking 3-28!)
  
  Ponting, Martin were all big flops against India in the Harbhajan series! Tottered and struggled against the SL spin attack in semis. So after Harbhajan got them groping in first two overs...
  Why didnt they pack the leg side, keep a slip and challenge RP/DM to play HS on the off, against the spin??? Spin was our only hope right?
  Instead they left yawning holes on the leg for the Aussies to play with the spin and take 5-6 singles an over.
  
  This Aussie team is overrated...McGrath no Lillee, only off stump line. Mohinder Amarnath would have smacked Lee's short ones for 5-6 sixes(he's done that to Holding/Robers/Marshall/Garner). Sadly 37 extras...8 unnecessary sixes - easily 100 runs more. If the target had been 259 it would have been a national holiday now!
  Can old timers recollect if Mrs. Gandhi gave a national holiday in '83?

  i think the prize money was made tax free after india beat pakistan.....a stupid decision by the govt which doesnt know to keep politics away from the game

  i do agree sachin cant be balmed for the defeat....for i was one who believed india cant win even if he stayed on for the 50 overs....i gave india a chance only if sachin and sehwag cud play atleast 40 overs! .... over thinking! ;)
  but....i feel sachin shud have played a bit more responsibly.....the ball before he got out went for a four BUT twasnt timed properly and he was lucky....he shud have thot of playin atleast an over before he started off.....coz once he gets goin even the aussies get nerves (even viru gave them a scare coz the target was just 157/3 in 25ovrs if the rain had come down and india was 107/3 in 17 overs)

  i differ with u on this......beatin WIs (lloyds)perfomance is by no way a small thing....McGrath is no Lillee, but stickin to an off stump line wud keep a batsman quiet,frustrate him and get his wkt.....runs are all important in ODIs....plyrs who improvise/world class plyrs(sachin/lara) thus take him for a ride coz he is predictable
  the aussie selection procedure is just awesome.....see they lost gillespie/warne and replaced them with bichel/hogg who have done an equally good job.....this is nuthin considerin that they cud replace STEVE WAUGH....somethin which the whole world was against....inspite of all these they walk home with the cup...do u feel india wud have qualified for the super6s w/o sachin??....it is just amazing to see the rate at which they develop talent
  
  this was a point made in Jaya TV .... India is a good team with great players and Australia is a great team with good players....there lies the difference.....each and evry individual has contributed for aus....its not a one man show....did u ever think aud wud win against pak/eng/nz....but they did...each time a new hero arose....athu thaan Aus!

  Aussies are the best, no doubt. But why Indians didn't give a fight??? I watched the entire game. They didn't give any pressure to aussies at all. Our bowlers kept on giving runs from the first ball of the innings and our captain didn't even bother to have a word with them or give them any tips or advice... but instead he was smiling.. It's ok to loose a match.. but with out a fight??. What hapenned to our guys? It was worldcup finals, for god's sake!!
  
  Our bowlers sucked a big time. So many extras. Highest one day score in worldcup ever. 349 for just 2 wickets. What a shame... the sad thing is that we feel it's shame but our players don't... anyway, our players are back to normal now.. this is how they used to play before...

  there was an article in The Hindu which said that India and Australia are tow of the best possible seides in the world that deserved to play in the finals,but the difference between these two teams being enormous
  
  there was also this list of records broken by ponting....."Ponting leaves statisticians panting"! :) .... three of those records were Viv's :(
