Major Sunderrajan passed away

Major Sunderrajan succumbed to cancer and passed away today. My condolences to his family. Let us recount his songs here.

  He is one of the few great natural actors I liked. "Badava Rascal" dialogue from "Ethir Neechal" is one of the unforgettable ones. Time and tide taking their toll. Good Bye Major! Hearty condolences to his family.

  That indeed is sad news. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to his family.
  
  I have always wondered why he never got to play the role of a hero although it seemed like he had everything that makes a movie hero.

  No one can forget his role in 'Major chandrakanth'.. kind of a 'Scent of a woman' Al pacino role... he did act is some good movies but has always been subdued to a side actor role... I recollect his last movie as 'Iruvar'.. did he act in any other movie after that?

  I just dont know how to express what I am feeling right now!!
  
  He has played some unforgettable characters n sme movies. Some of those movies are best remembered solely for him!!
  
  He is not only a good actor but also a great cook! He is known for his 'Rasam'.
  
  His co-actors in the shooting sets would request him to prepare rasam and bring to the sets when he shot in Chennai!
  
  He had a distinct voice, distinct way of speaking.
  
  Indeed a great loss to Tamil cinema.

  Major s portrayal in Thirumalai-pattu s "Aalayam" was great.His role is P Madhavan s "Payanam" was another good one.
  
  To see Major s comic sense(he did not get enough opportunities on the silver screen) watch the DD serial "ViralgaL" (Fingers).

  First listened to Major's booming voice in the teleserial Ambigayin kalyanam in 87. Tremendous resemblance to Sivaji in screen presence.
