In music there are two paths
1) ...one is sticking to our indian style and reaching heights....
2)...taking the western path.
IR took the first one and reached heights that cannot be overtook by anyone....AR took the second ...but his quality in that path is similar and at the place where BONEY M and ABBA were !!But now those two history in path 2...being in Indian music and taking Path 2 rahman may sound lates but actually he is at the age of BONEY M...
IRs is pure , clean creative, original regional music...that can be enjoyed by even other regions..

so, what do you want to say ultimately. ?
What are you trying to convey?
Need not have started a thread for your small personal opinion. Could have posted in any relevant thread.

If you had just stopped with the first two bullet items..we could have had a good discussion..but then you passed your judgement people are going to go crazy now !!
(I do agree on the classification. L Vaidyanathan tried #2 in ezhAvathu manithan. NOt sure whether it was not popular at time or he chose not to do movie music any more)

Since KIRAN enjoys telling jokes, here is one for him:
An elderly gent was invited to his old friend's home for dinner one evening. He was impressed by the way his buddy preceded every request to his wife with endearing terms - "Honey," "My Love,"
"Darling," "Sweetheart," "Pumpkin," etc. The couple had been married almost 70 years and, clearly, they were still very much in love.
While the wife was in the kitchen, the man leaned over and said to his host, "I think it's wonderful that, after all these years, you
still call your wife those loving pet names."
The old man hung his head. "I have to tell you the truth," he said. "I forgot her name about 10 years ago."
