Nothing sir, the kOlAmbi speaker / teakkadai / function / bus-cast, in short "the rAsA effect" on TN
(I am among the many who keep talking about this in the hub and Prakash Raj opens the show with that as a personal comment)...

Great....Kamesh brought the next set of videos for us.
mmm...Raja, What is so great about Kaannadasan's AYIRAM MALARGALEY.....varigal ? .
pardon my ignorance, to this day, I never seen the movie , I don't know the situation or story.
Varigal enna sollaradhu?
This particular composition when I grew up, it is female vocalist prelude humming followed by the wonderful music, long drawn tune in enchanting Vasu's vocals caught our attention to stop at the palace ground to enjoy the raja paadal.
paadal varigalukkaga indha particular paadalukku naangal wait pannidhu illai.
this particular song musical content followed by singing adds more value.

who is the singer who sang "edho moham" - she ate up KArthik for lunch and supper..
Surmukhi - is another singer to watch out for - great find these singers. God bless them.
And yes - Raaja kaiyya vechcha - the kuthu - blended into waltz into WCM majestic march - is
a huge feast to be chewed by little raaja's little singing mouth.. adhukkullaam baalungara dinosaur venum
illainna kamalngara singam venum..

another small note about raaja kaiyya vecha - second interlude andha flute_pipe sound - so local sound - adhai andha veli naatukaarar clarinetla vaasichaare - oru note, oru chinna skip-lag illaamal - andha aalukku adhukku score sheet kuduththu dhaane vaasichiruppaaru? wow. endha soundayum ippadi notate panna koodumna adhu genius dhaan..
Regarding "aayiram malargaLe" lyrics - adhu kavidhai illai - paattu and it is not a song to denote a love song between lovers - it is about the memories of love.
now if you see the movie - the song is constantly played in the sombre second half (VIjayan - remembering is once beautiful life - now immersed in tragic recollections of that) - That is why this song is not template thalaivan - thalaivi song - but a mash of the entire eco system around them - every sight and sound and smell of their memory - and what an abstract painting kavignar paints - it has everything - fragrance and tenderness of 1000 flowers, the hills and their joyous celebration of spring time beauty, the passage of the season with each one adding a layer of colour on the preceding one as the lovers gain further proximity. Indha whole mise-en-scene has been zipped and wrapped into a present by the kavignar which entirely slide into the wonderful tune and with both genius collaborating, it must have been an experience to behold on many levels..

Thanks Jai for the details of the song.
varigal of this particular composition never caught our attention when I grew up or over the years listening too.
Your post interests me to watch the scene or movie now, not Kannadasan's varigal for me.
still the orchestration, long drawn tune and the prelude aalaap, singers enrich the song in that order, I guess for me.
vinatha.

Totally spellbound by the concert in the last two days and just waiting for the last part tomorrow. Hope they release the DVD soon and make it available for everyone. The most goosebump-y moment for me so far was the symphony performance and Raaja's "Idhayam Pogudhe" towards the end of that symphony piece.
SPB & Chitra were top class and KJY's rendering of En Iniya Pon Nilaave was classic with his trademark style "Dharadha dha dha dhaa". Loved Poongathave from Deepan & Uma as well, their voices were mostly intact. Most of the new female vocalists were superb.
Overall, the performance of the orchestra stands out from everyone, their hardwork shows in their quality
