great collections on MSR. It has been a long time since i have listened to songs like chittukuruvi chittukuruvi saethi theriyuma and maNNukku maram bhAramA
just one query,
is poo poova paRanthu pOgum pattu poochi akka sung by MSR? I think the movie is thikku theriyaatha kaattil

I am glad to know you like MSR's songs. There
are only about 30 songs or so by MSR that I am
familiar with. But they are quite nice. I think
KVM gave her much more chance than others. Yes,
poo poovA from thikku theriyAdha kAttil
is sung by her. It is a nice and simple song.
I will upload another set of 10 songs by her
after a few weeks.

In the early 90's MSV wrote a series of articles in Kumudam. He once mentioned about how PS started crying and noone knew why. Later she told them that she was crying because she couldn't sing a particular song the way the MSV sang. Do you know what song that is?

dheivamum.

thanks a ton on gangai karai . It is a definite heart winner and could lead to a nostalgic break down sometimes, especially for those who are away from home(india) on a long term.

because of Kannadhasan rhyming word play.

It goes on like that. Very sweet to hear.
Plus, PS, by her sweet singing and clear
pronunciation, raises the song to greater
heights. VR isai patri sollavE vENdiyadhillai.
apt, sweet tune, unobtrusive orchestration,
and nice rhythm that speeds up and slows down
appropriately at the right places! I think the
bird's voice also has been simulated very well.
KR Vijaya sings this song at home, dreaming
about Muthuraman. I haven't listened to this song
for several years now.

sometime today. The file size of gangai karai
is about 3.4 Mb. In my encoding I am finding that
filesize in Mb is roughly equal to half the time
in minutes.
