  Thanks for a very good attempt of one-stop site for IR's raagas. You are bold enough to imprison(listing in a site) air(IRs raagas); Kudos.
  
  I have a few things to remember you :-).
  
  the songs amudhae thamizhae from kovil pura is listed under Malayamarutham whereas what i learnt from here is that it is based on RASIKARANJANI. So is the next song Neela kuyilae unnodu from magudi.

  IR Fan - Great job. As much as I appreciate your efforts to have all raga based songs of IR on the web, I think it is unfair to make it MD specific. There are tons of other excellent songs by other MDs which are equally if not more melodious than these songs! It would be awesome if we could just have a good collection of classical-raga based songs of all MDs.. This is my humble request.
  
  We have had numerous good discussions on songs of all kinds irrespective of who the MD is in this thread. Let us not have another IR vs ARR/other MDs fight creep into this thread also! It would be nice if we are unbiased and appreciate all "great songs"!

  Guys, I was watching the song "Thom thom thithithom" from "Alli thandha vaanam" y'day. Was quite impressed by the song.
  
  It sounded a lot like "Pramadhavanam veendum" (HHA)especially in the humming (swaras) in the pallavi. Is this song based on the same Raga "JOG" like the HHA song ?

  MS clarified that these two songs Amudhae thamizhae azhagiya mozhiyae yenadhuyirae and Neelakuyilae unnodu naan paN paaduvaen to be in RasikaRanjani. He clarified it in just after you first posted your list in this thread few days back.
  
  Here is his words --
  (22) alayamaarutham - Amudhae thamizhae - kovil pura
  Malayamaarutham - Nila kuyilae - Magudi
  
  Both are in a raga called rasikaranjani . vibhaas. There had bene enough discussion on thsi beautiful raga in this thread already. It is malayamarutham sans ni2

  I saw the first portion of movie "Swami VivEkanand" (sarvadaman banerjee). There are two beautiful songs by Yesudas, one by Anup jalota and another by SPB. Does anybody have the CD of these songs ?
  
  I am also thinking of revamping the raga/song database of newtfmpage in the near future. Any additions / deletions / editions / suggestions / are welcome.
  
  IR fan - I hope you dont mind the inclusion of your list into the database too which may then serve as a central source for people interested in ragas of film songs. I am also planning to include the language tag so that if there are some non-tamil songs discussed they may be included in the database then and there.

  MS, the anu pallavi reminds of that of SD Burman's 'poochO na kaisE', same swaram. There is an interesting anecdote in connection with 'Swami Vivekanand'. Salil had called upon Lata's services for a song but she kept postponing the meeting (probably knowing fully well, her growing inadequacies due to ageing) till the producers could wait no more. The song was sung later by Kavita Krishnamurthy.
  
  This song has been set to a shruthi, a semitone lower than those of most Salil-KJY mallu numbers. Great voice, wish I had it.

  So, here is a small suggestion:
  
  The song Narumugaiyae(iruvar) is set to Natai/Gambeera Natai. You may want to add this to the "Classical ragas in Tamil film songs". Infact, this is the only popular film song in Natai I am aware of (considering Mahaganapathim in Sindhu Bhairavi as a pure classical and a small piece of "Naataiyum raagaththl vendriduvaen..." in "oru naal poadhuma").
