  Can someone help identify movie/md/lyricist for the following songs? 1-8 are from albums titled raagamaaalika vol 1 & 2 released by HMV in the late 70s/early 80s containing tfm songs set to various raagams. 8 is kind of hard to describe - it is dheem dheem nadruthatheem dheem.....

  I recently saw the movie Koonduk Kili. It really felt good to see the two titans of tamil filmdom side by side, laughing.
  
  I saw that Vindhan was the story/dialog writer for this and he has written some songs too. Is this the famous writer? Does anyone know what songs were written by him? Has he worked in any other movie? Written any other songs?
  
  The songs I remember are:
  1. Ratthirikku Boovavukke Lottery
  2. Konjum Kiliyana Pennai
  
  The second one sounded very familiar. After tearing out whatever hair was on my head, I realized that it has the same tune as another song - I dont remember the pallavi - but it has a repeating line, "Kannan Vandhan Kavidhai Thandhan"
  
  The lines in the Koonduk Kili song go something like
  
  Konjum Kiliyana Pennai
  Koonduk Kili Aaaki Vaitthal
  Sariya Thappa Sariya Thappa
  
  The Sariya Thappa Sariya Thappa correspond with Kannan Vandhan Kavidhai Thandhan.
  
  The tune also reminds me the saranam in the song "Sedhi Ketto Sedhi Ketto". Sowcar sings the saranam in the song - I dont remember all the lines, but it goes something like
  Thattedhutthu Vandha Podhu Madhuk Kanna - Annam
  Thattamal Thandha Kaigal Idhudhan Kanna.

  It is from 'Adhi parAsakthi'. Yes, KVM copied
  his own koondukkiLi tune diito in the pallavi. The movie
  situation is: SriDevi comes as Murugan to make
  a dumb child speak.. at Thiruchendhoor.
  
  BTW, konjum kiLiyAna peNNai has good lyrics
  by Thanjai Ramaiah Das. We have discussed it
  earlier in the 'Apt Lyrics for Movie Situations'

  I was trying to find the thread you mentioned but couldnt. Could you please post the URL? I would like to see the whole lyric.
  
  Well, V Kumar reused the pallavi as his saranam in Edhir Neecchal as I had mentioned. Just remove the Sariya Thappa line, and the tune corresponds with the lines I had mentioned.

  Konjum Kiliyana Pennai is by Ranjai Ramayah Dass.
  
  Vindan (original name Govindan) wrote Mayakkum Malai and Idhaya vaanin.
  
  Mayakkum Malai was written by Vindhan, composed by KVM and sung by AMR and Jikki for Koondukkili, but used in Gulebagavali- both are RR Pictures (TR Ramana-Rajakumari)
  
  
  Vindhan has passed away. He was a close friend of writer Jayakanthan.

  I must hv heard Kadhodudhan Naan Pesuven and Jeena Yahan Marna Yahan 100s of times in my life. It is amazing that it took me so long to see this. Even though the tune has been lifted, they feel like different songs - like two songs based on the same raga or something. I wonder why.

  I managed to see a movie called Sarvadhikari (1951, Modern Theaters, directed by T.R. Sundaram, music by S. Dakshinamoorthy) recently. The movie opens with a song - the sepoys singing at an army camp, celebrating the end of a war:
  
  Sandai Theerndhu Pocchu Namma Nattile
  Jaldi Poi Seralame Veetile
  
  The tune is almost identical with
  
  Veedu Nokki Odi Vandha Nammaiye
  Nadi Nirkudhe Anega Nanmaiye
  
  Upto the Nanmaiye word!

  almost all the songs in kalyana parisu were top class except the TEA TEA song by thangavelu (ILAYA RAJA style)kadalile tholviurral kanni oruval, unnai kandu nan ada ennai kandu nee ada (both happy and sad) vadikkai marandadu, the songs in ADI PERUUKU of thanimaile inimai kana mudiuma, kaveri ooram, kannizhanda manidanidam oviayam, puriyadu puriyadu vazhkkaiyin rahasiyam are some of the greatest songs not only the music ,meaning and opt to the situation is some of the hall mark of these songs . still i wonder how A.M.RAJA. didnt shine. i will appreciate ur comments.
